“Hmm?” I sent one final email.
“Daniel?”
I looked up and my fingers weakened dropping the phone on the bed.
“Damn.” I panted. “When did you buy that?”
She smiled and sauntered over to me. Her body moved beneath the soft material, fluidly—like water. He draped over her curves perfectly, accentuating all the parts of her I had become so addicted to.
“Is this for me?” I asked.
“All of it.” She replied.
“I love you.” I confessed. “So much.”
“Say that again?” She framed my cheeks. “I’ve been waiting for so long to hear you say that.”
“I was worried you weren’t ready.”
“To hear how you feel about me?”
I dragged a hand over the cornrows atop her head.
“Daniel, I feel your love every day.” Kokou advised me. “All the wonderful things you do for me, the respect you show me, the tenderness—I knew you loved me. I just wanted to hear you say it.”
“I think I’m becoming entirely too predictable.”
Kokou giggled. “Mo ni f?´ r?.”
I blinked.
“It means.” She wrapped her arms around me. “It means, I love you.”
“Say it again?”
“Mo ni f?´ r?.”
I listened to the way she pronounced the words and said them to her.
She grinned and nodded.
“Because you were such a good student, I think you deserve a reward.”
“I’m down for that.” I replied. “But you’re a screamer. You’ll have to be quiet.”
Kokou smirked. “We’ll see who screams for whom.”
