“Easy, Juliette. Breathe,” I say softly.

“It’s hard to breathe when you’re submerged in water,” she says through gritted teeth. “I am not a mermaid.”

“Okay, easy. No need to get frustrated. You’re not in the water anymore.”

She raises an eyebrow.

“You know what I mean. You’re not underwater anymore. Your feet are touching the bottom and there’s nothing to be scared of. Just breathe. Try to get accustomed to the feeling of being in here.”

It takes her a few minutes before she’s settled enough. When she finally calms down, she gives me a short nod.

“Now what?”

“Now, you’re going to practice holding your breath. Which means going underwater again,” I tell her.

She glares at me. “This is not fun.”

“You can do it,” I tell her, giving her a thumbs up.

I’m sure she wasn’t expecting to get into the water and start swimming laps. I certainly can’t teach her how to swim in one day. It’s a gradual process, and at the stage she’s at now, she needs to learn to not be scared of the water. Only then can she learn how to swim.

I hold her hand as she leans down and submerges her head. For approximately 10 seconds before she’s resurfacing. She gasps, taking deep breaths.

“How long was I under for?” she questions.

I tell her and she frowns.

“How long should I be able to do it for?”

“About thirty seconds.”

Juliette groans.

“Hey, it’ll be fine. I know you can do it,” I say encouragingly.

He spends the next twenty minutes, helping her to master holding her breath and get accustomed to the water. Unlike what she said, she’s actually a pretty fast learner. Soon enough, we’re learning how to angle her body. The only problem is, the shirt she’s wearing is so wide on her, it keeps filling up with water and making her visibly uncomfortable along with that added weight that’s pulling her down.

I run my hand through my hair.

“Juliette, you might need to take the shirt off.”

She stares at me for a minute, pressing her lips together. My eyes inadvertently drop to her mouth. Lush, pink, and quite capable of driving me wild. It’s the worst possible time for me to be thinking about anything related to sex. I told her I would give her swimming lessons with the purest of intentions.

Juliette makes things worse by biting on the side of her bottom lip. My cock thickens and my hands clench into fists at my sides. She’s incredibly beautiful, anyone with two eyes can see that. I’ve been around beautiful women before, but Juliette’s the only one that tempts me into wanting more.

After a few moments’ hesitation, she finally pulls the shirt off and hands it to me. I throw it onto the ground, not caring where it lands. My eyes are fixed on hers. I’m trying hard not to look down but I’m also human. My gaze travels down to her chest. She was right. The bikini really is too small for her.

Her nipples are poking through the material of the top. They’re hard and pebbled, probably due to the chill. My nostrils flare. I’m still fucking hard and it’s driving me insane. Juliette can tell something’s wrong, too. Her cheeks are blush pink and the air between us is charged.

“Xander,” she says softly, distracting me from my thoughts.

“Yeah?”

“Maybe we should stop.”

I don’t think she means swimming.

“No, it’s alright,” I tell her. “I don’t think you should push yourself anymore today, but we should stay in the water. It’ll help you get more accustomed.”
