Tears sprang to my eyes at his words, the knot of fear and hurt in my chest unraveling. I threw my arms around his neck, clinging to him as I tried to tide the stream of tears, blurring my vision. His strong arms encircled me, pulling me close to his hard chest.

After a long moment, I leaned back to look at him, wiping the tears from my cheeks. “This has been a nightmare that I didn’t know how to wake up from. I was so scared that you’d hate me forever.

Ghost shook his head, brushing a stray strand of hair from my face. “My instincts knew all along that you’d never do that. I should have listened to them.”

Greyson, who had remained silent throughout the entire exchange, finally spoke up. “I’m sorry, Remi. It’s just ... hard to process everything right now.” I peered at him through tear-streaked lashes, noting the way his jaw clenched and unclenched as he tried to keep himself composed. It was a subtle gesture, but it spoke volumes about the turmoil brewing beneath his carefully controlled exterior.

My heart ached to erase the distance that had grown between Greyson and me. “I don’t blame anyone for believing I wrote that story. I would have, too, in your position.” Frowning, I glanced over at Grey. “Even though Dawn did it, I still feel guilty for bringing her into your lives. I still feel responsible.”

Talia and Ryder exchanged a glance before Talia cleared her throat. “You can’t blame yourself for actions other people took. You had no control over any of that. Dawn really screwed us all over. The best thing we all can do is get past it without letting it interfere with our lives anymore,” she said, offering me a small smile.

Her words, though genuine, did little to ease the tension that still lingered in the air. Greyson had taken the brunt of the damage from that article, and I wasn’t sure he’d ever be able to separate me from that pain.

Ghost pulled me against his hard length. “Fuck, Greyson,” he growled. “Get over here. We’ve got our girl back.”

His words sent a rush of adrenaline running through my veins. I held my breath, praying Grey would come to us.

He stood and crossed the room in a few long strides, pulling me away from Ghost and into his arms. “You don’t have to say anything else. I’m just glad this nightmare is over.” He pressed a soft kiss to my forehead, warmth flooding through me at his touch.

His words echoed in my mind as I clung to him, desperate for the reassurance that everything would be alright. And for the first time in what felt like an eternity, I allowed myself to hope — to believe that maybe our love survived the storm.

I felt Ghost pressing up behind me. Sandwiched between these two men I loved, my heart surged with joy. I was home.

Chapter 38

Greyson

The tension in the room was stifling. Ghost stood by the window, staring out at the city skyline. Remi perched on the edge of the black leather sofa, her knee bouncing nervously.

After leaving Talia and Ryder’s house, the three of us met back at Ghost’s apartment to talk through our issues. We were all edgy. None of us knew how to bridge the gap that had grown between us. The awkward silence only further highlighted how far we’d grown apart.

“This is ridiculous,” I grumbled.

Ghost turned, eyes hooded. Remi bit her lip.

I strode across the room, grabbed Ghost by the collar, and crushed my mouth to his. For a moment, he resisted, then he was kissing me back, hard and hungry.

Our kiss was brutal and claiming, all clashing teeth and warring tongues. Ghost kissed like he lived, fast and hard and out of control, but I set the pace now. I dominated his mouth as I dominated his body, pinning him in place against the wall.

Remi gasped and my heart thudded crazily as I slid my hand into Ghost’s hair, the silky strands slipping through my fingers. He growled, low in his throat, and pressed against me.

He moaned into my mouth, the sound vibrating through me, and his hands came up to grip my shoulders. I broke away with a nip at his lower lip and grabbed his wrists, slamming them back against the wall above his head.

“Keep them there,” I growled, “or I’ll stop.”

Defiance flashed in his eyes, but he nodded once. I released his hands to trail mine down his chest, relishing the feel of firm muscle under my palms. His abdominal muscles clenched under my touch and I grinned, dropping to my knees.

“Greyson, don—“

I cut him off by unzipping his jeans and freeing his cock. He was already hard and leaking, and I couldn’t resist leaning in to swipe my tongue over the tip, tasting salt and something uniquely Ghost.

A strangled groan escaped him as his head thumped back against the wall.

His hands remained in place, clenched into fists, and I rewarded him by taking him deep into my mouth. I set a hard, driving pace, hollowing my cheeks on every upstroke and humming encouragement.

I broke off only long enough to growl out an order, “Remi, you’re next. Get undressed.”

When I was satisfied that she was obeying me, I turned back to Ghost and redoubled my efforts. I’d unleashed the wild beast inside me and it wasn’t easily slaked.
