Greyson’s jaw clenched, betraying a jealous streak that made my cheeks flush with excitement. His possessiveness sent an unexpected thrill surging through me.

I put on the plain black T-shirt with the silhouette of a guitar on it that Greyson picked out for me, feeling his eyes on me as he watched me dress.

“Knox,” Summer interjected, waving a hand to get his attention. “Remi told me she didn’t write that article. It was a co-worker who set her up.” She directed her gaze at me and raised her eyebrows. “Ghost, you should have led with that. I was so confused.”

I glanced over at Remi, who was nervously picking at the hem of her T-shirt. “Oh, sorry. A lot has happened in the last couple of days.”

“No kidding!” Summer retorted, her eyes scanning the three of us. “What’s going on between you guys?”

My stomach churned with a blend of trepidation and excitement as I shared a glance with Remi and Greyson. This was our moment to be open, to embrace the connection that had formed between us. But in doing so, we risked judgment and misunderstanding.

“Summer,” I began, my voice barely above a whisper, “the three of us ... we’re together. In a relationship.”

As the words hung in the air, I braced myself for the unknown, my heart pounding in my chest. There was no turning back now. Remi came to stand next to me, silently offering her support.

Summer’s brow furrowed, her eyes darting between me, Remi, and Greyson. “The three of you?” she asked, hands on her hips. “All together? Like a triangle? Is it an equilateral triangle or more like an isosceles triangle?”

My heart hammered in my chest, the uncertainty of their reactions sending a shiver down my spine. I glanced at Remi, her fingers entwined with mine, and then at Greyson, who stood tall with an air of confidence. They were my rock, my foundation.

“Equilateral,” I finally replied, swallowing hard. “We’re together in every way.”

Knox crossed his arms over his chest, his lips quirking up in a smile. The silence hung thick in the air, suffocating me.

Then Summer broke into a wide grin and clapped her hands together, the sound echoing through the room. “Oh, that’s wonderful! I’m so happy for you guys!”

Knox slapped me on the back. “Yeah, Ghost, if you’re happy, we’re happy too.” He turned to Summer. “Isocoles triangle, lass? What the bloody hell are you talking about?”

A wave of relief washed over me, my muscles unclenching as I let out a breath I hadn’t realized I’d been holding. I’d gone from numbing the pain of my past and sleepwalking through life to this — to learning to experience it fully with Remi and Greyson by my side.

“Thank you,” I whispered, my voice barely audible, but the gratitude within it was immense.

Remi squeezed my hand and leaned in to press a soft kiss against my cheek while Greyson wrapped an arm around my waist, pulling me close. Their touch, their presence, sent warmth spreading through my body, igniting my senses and grounding me in the moment.

As I looked into their eyes, I saw love, acceptance, and understanding reflected back at me. And as I stood there, enveloped in the embrace of the two people who had taught me to embrace life’s complexities and allowed me to explore my desires without fear or judgment, I realized that this was what happiness felt like.

Deep within my heart, I knew that the journey ahead would be filled with challenges and uncertainties. But with Remi and Greyson by my side, I also knew that I was strong enough to face them head-on. And at that moment, as Summer and Knox’s laughter filled the room, I finally understood that I was no longer alone — I belonged to something greater than myself: a love that defied conventions and transcended boundaries.

And for the first time in my life, I was truly free.

Chapter 40

Ghost

I lay back on my lounger, feeling the warmth of the sun on my skin. Remi and Greyson were lounging beside me, their bodies glistening with sweat.

The sun’s rays cast a golden glow over the tropical oasis. We had staked out a prime location on the edge of a natural pool with its crystal clear water and soft sandy bottom. A waterfall cascaded down from the dark rocks above, creating gentle ripples in the water and providing a refreshing mist. At the edges, lush tropical plants and bright flowers spilled down and cast their cool shadows across the pool.

My eyes traced the gentle sway of palm trees that encircled the exclusive resort, the scent of tropical flowers teasing my senses. I lounged between Remi and Greyson on soft, plush recliners, soaking up not only the sun but also the intoxicating energy of their presence.

Months had passed since the three of us decided to become exclusive, but the novelty of being together still hadn’t worn off. This vacation was exactly what we needed to escape the stresses of our lives.

I stretched out my legs, feeling the heat warm my muscles, and sighed with contentment. Our lives had become chaotic — me, caught between rock tours, producing a new album, and dealing with the ghosts of my past; Remi, unemployed but pouring her heart into a fictional political thriller inspired by the scandal she’d investigated early in her career; and Greyson, his character “killed off” in Devious, enjoying a long break from filming while the world remained ignorant of his impending return from the dead.

As I closed my eyes and let out a contented sigh, I felt a hand on my chest. Opening my eyes, I saw Greyson leaning over me. He grinned and leaned down to kiss me, his lips hot and demanding. I couldn’t resist him, and I pulled him closer, kissing him deeply.

Remi cleared her throat, and we both turned to look at her. Her lips curved into a half-smile as she tried not to laugh. “Are you two going to make out all day? And why does Ghost always get to be in the middle? It’s not fair.”

We laughed and settled back into our loungers, enjoying each other’s company. I watched Remi, my eyes tracing the outline of her wet bikini against her tan skin. My heart raced as she brushed a strand of hair behind her ear, revealing her slender neck. A bead of water rolled down from her collarbone to her chest, and I fought the urge to lean forward and taste it.
