“Yeah, that’s us.”

“Let’s go then, mates.” He turned to address the dark-haired lady behind him. “All set, Priscilla?”

Priscilla rolled her eyes and then held up her cell phone. “Ready.” I guess she was the videographer.

Elvis turned back to us and then cleared his throat. He waited for a few beats and then began, his voice much huskier and deeper, now with a southern drawl. “Welcome, everyone. It’s time to rock and roll.”

He stepped out from behind the lectern and spread out his arms. “Turn to face each other and hold hands.”

Bash and I held hands while Priscilla circled around us, holding up the phone to record.

“Sebastian, are you ready to take Lacey to be your wife?”

Bash looked into my eyes. “I am.”

Elvis fed Bash the lines and he repeated,

“Lacey, Let Me Be Your Teddy Bear,

With you, Any Place is Paradise,

no more Suspicious Minds,

You Belong to my Heart.”

“Lacey, do you take Sebastian to be your husband?”

I squeezed Bash’s hands. “I do.”

Then it was my turn to repeat after him:

“I promise to never step on your Blue Suede Shoes,

or leave you at the Heartbreak Hotel,

I Can’t Help Falling in Love With You,

I promise to Love you Tender,

and never Return to Sender,

I’m just a hunk of Burning Love for you.”

Well, that was cheesy, but I guess that’s what you get from an Elvis impersonator.

Elvis did a weird leg shake. “Congratulations, you may kiss the bride!”

Bash pulled me in, but I turned away from his kiss. “Wait. We didn’t say our special vows.”

We both had memorized the vows we’d spoken at our first wedding, planning to use them at this ceremony.

Bash’s brow creased. “It doesn’t matter. What matters is that I know I love you and I’ll remember this moment for the rest of my life.”

“Yea-uh,” Elvis agreed. He looked at his watch. “Time to kiss your bride.”

I pulled back. “But you didn’t even officially pronounce us man and wife.”

Elvis burst out in fake laughter. “Sorry, honey. You must have gotten me All Shook Up. I pronounce you man and wife. Now, will you please kiss your bride? Time’s a ticking.”
