I nodded. “To work through it. This is pretty heavy stuff.”

He stared at me like I’d grown a second head. “There’s no way I can see a therapist. Not that I could find one with the expertise to deal with my circumstances.”

I set my empty glass aside. The alcohol was setting in and I was feeling more open and relaxed.

“Thank you,” he said quietly.

“For what?”

“For being the only person to tell me you’re sorry she died,” he said, straightening. He knocked on the table and signaled the bartender to refill our glasses. “Now, I’m fucking done with the emotional shit.”

I opened my mouth, but his eyes flashed. Warning me to back off. The bartender set my drink down. My head spun pleasantly. I caught a glimpse of myself in the mirror behind the bar. No wonder he was speechless when I’d stepped out in this dress. I looked fantastic.

I shook my hair back, feeling incredibly confident.

“Want to play a game?” I asked.

His face relaxed and I knew he was glad for the distraction.

“Sure, princess,” he said.

“Okay. Truth or dare?”

He laughed, flashing his white teeth. “Interesting choice. I’ll play if we don’t do heavy shit.”

“Agreed,” I said, nodding.

“Alright,” he said, leaning in until he was less than a foot away. “I’ll go first. Truth or dare, princess?”

“Dare,” I said, afraid he was going to ask something incredibly embarrassing.

“That’s easy,” he said. “I dare you to kiss me.”

My eyes widened, but he was already leaning in. Capturing my mouth with his and kissing me slowly and thoroughly. Heat flared in my belly and spread down my thighs, making my pussy ache. When he broke away, I was breathless.

“Truth or dare?” I squeaked.

“Truth.”

“Alright. Why did you kidnap me?”

“I thought we said no heavy shit.”

“It’s not heavy, you seem to be enjoying it a lot.”

He sighed. “Alright, I actually thought you might be dangerous at first. You did compromise our security.”

“Alright…so why not bring me back when you found out?” I pressed.

He shook his head. “Only one truth per turn, princess. Truth or dare?”

“Truth,” I said begrudgingly. I’d suggested the game so I had to stick to the rules.

He leaned in, his dark eyes serious. “Have you…ever cheated at Monopoly?”

I couldn’t hold back my giggle. “I don’t play Monopoly. I’m an only child.”

“You’ve never played?” he said. “I fucking love Monopoly. We’ll play.”
