“You find her, you call me. I don’t want you anywhere near my sister.”

There’s no missing the tension those words were filled with. “Don’t give a shit what you want right now, Driver. You said it yourself, she’s still my wife, that makes her mine. No matter how pissed I am that she lied to me, I’ll find out what’s going on, and I’ll find her. When I do, her and I will figure shit out. Now, send the footage so we can start looking into shit.” I press my finger to the screen and hang up on Driver before facing Blow and Nines, holding a hand up while planting the other on my hip. “Don’t even start.”

“Oh, I’m not gonna start in on you, brother,” Blow remarks, smirking. “I already know.”

“Know what?” I grind out.

“I know about the papers you had drawn up and what you and Chelsea did. Granted, I didn’t know she never signed them. But it also ain’t my business.” Blow grunts, shaking his head.

“How the fuck did you find out?” I didn’t tell anyone and I sure as fuck didn’t want him to know or the others.

“Markus told me.” Blow grins.

“What happened to client confidentiality?”

Damn Markus for opening his big mouth.

“If you didn’t want him to talk, you should have gone with a different lawyer to handle your shit,” Nines remarks, shrugging.

“Anyone else he’d have told?”

“Nope, only me and Nines,” Blow answers.

“Great,” I mutter and shove my phone in my pocket. “How about we drop this shit so I can find out where the fuck Chelsea would have been taken?”

“We’ll find her,” Nines says, getting my attention with the way he spoke those words. Fury radiating off him. “When we get her back, you need to figure out what the fuck you want. Keep her or let her go.”

I nod, understanding what he means. With the knowledge the papers were still floating around, she’s still mine, and I can keep her that way. I’d already been thinking about her more and more. I didn’t like the fact she wasn’t around the clubhouse as much. When she left it pissed me off to no end. I wanted her on first sight years ago, but she was too young for me. Then when I saw her this last time in Colorado, when I rode out there with Blow, I fucked up, married her, then ended it. After that, she came out here and started making my life hell, but at the same time, I secretly enjoyed it. Not the shit she pulled on me, but the fact she was here. I could see her, and know she was safe.

My life’s been fucked up and I keep to myself about a lot. For instance, I keep my relationship with my brother, Luka, separate from the rest of who I am. But I do it to protect him. It wouldn’t look good for him in the eyes of society if they knew he was associated with me. Then again, Luka doesn’t give two shits what others think of him. He does what he does, and if people don’t like it, he says fuck ‘em. So, he makes this whole thing that much harder.

Spinning on my heel, I stalk out of the room. My brother’s voice fills my head with what he would say if he knew what was going on.“Don’t be a stupid fuck. Stop letting other things interfere with what you want. Go for it and claim what’s yours.”

Chelsea’s mine.

Mine in every way and those words would be right. I need to stop thinking about everything else and claim her as I should have instead of regretting it and hurting her the way I did.

My luck has always been good. I like to say I’ve always had a lucky streak, but now I’m not so sure.

CHAPTER3

CHELSEA

“I have to go pee,” I snap, frustrated with my kidnappers, sitting in the front seat of the sedan they’d shoved me into hours ago.

It feels like we’ve been on the road for a long time now, and my bladder is about to explode with the need to go.

“Hold it.” The driver grunts.

“Dude, you try holding it.” They stopped to fill up once already and didn’t even give me the courtesy of asking. Nor did they bother getting me something to drink. Assholes.

“Just sit back there and shut the hell up,” the guy in the passenger seat grumbles, twisting to look back at me.

“I don’t think so.” I narrow my eyes on him, wishing I had laser pointers for eyeballs so I could kill him with them.

“You shut up or I’ll do it for you,” he sneers.

“Go ahead and try. It’s a free country and I can speak up if I want to. Like, for instance, I’m telling you all I have to pee, and if I don’t go soon, like seriously soon, you all will be cleaning up the mess back here and getting me new jeans to put on.”
