But we’d spent the last ten days FaceTiming when I’d get off work. It had helped to see her beautiful face those last days we’d been apart, but nothing would compare to holding her in my arms.

Hell, I hadn’t had sex in a month, and I was horny as all get-out, but I didn’t even care about that at the moment. I just wanted her with me. Near me.

My world had been off-kilter these last few weeks, and Reese had a way of making everything better. I landed in San Francisco, and my brother-in-law, Maddox, had a helicopter waiting for me to fly me home so I could get there quicker. When I landed on the rooftop of Lancaster Press, I pushed the door open to see Reese running toward me.

Arms pumping, hair flying in the wind as she crashed into me on a whoosh, and I wrapped my arms around her. We just stood there, with the wind whipping around us, the pilot strolling past us with a chuckle as he moved toward the door to the building—and I just held my girl.

She pulled back and looked up at me. “I’m so happy you’re home.”

“Me, too,” I said, leaning down and kissing her hard. “Let’s get out of here.”

With my hand on the small of her back and my huge duffle slung over my shoulder, I guided her toward the door. We went down the back stairs and out to her car. She tossed me her keys because she knew I always preferred to drive.

All the way home, she asked endless questions about Tokyo and the cast that I’d been working with. I asked about the new client she’d taken on yesterday.

“They are such a cute family. It’s a second home for them, so they are pretty much giving me creative freedom.” She leaned her cheek against the seat and smiled at me. “I’m super excited that I get to do their kids’ rooms. Their son, Stephen, wants a superhero bedroom, and their daughter, Alicia, wants a rainbow room.”

“Man, I would have loved to have you decorate my bedroom as a kid.”

“Your mom is so talented. You guys all had the cutest bedrooms growing up. She’s the reason I wanted to be a designer. Remember how I’d go hang out with her when she was redoing rooms or decorating for the holidays?”

“Oh. I thought you were there for me?”

Her smile lit up her entire face, and she nodded. “I was always there for you.”

I pulled down the long driveway and parked in front of the barn before stepping out of the car and coming around to open her door. It wasn’t snowing any longer, and we probably had a few hours of sunlight left before it tucked behind the clouds.

“What do you want to do first?” she asked, tipping her head back as my arms came around her.

“I want to doyoufirst. And then I want to take the horses down to the beach and sit with you before the sun sets.”

“I can work with that,” she said, and I grabbed her behind the knees and flipped her over my shoulder. I jogged toward the house as her laughter filled the air around us.

It was my favorite sound.

And she was my favorite girl.

My only girl.

Always had been. Even before I knew it myself.

I didn’t stop until we were in the bedroom, and I dropped her down onto the bed, her hair spilling all around her. Her green eyes blazed as I unzipped her coat, and she lifted enough for me to pull it off. Next, I bent down and pulled off her cowboy boots before removing every last stitch of clothing from her gorgeous body.

“Get naked,” she said, her voice husky as the corners of her lips turned up.

“Yes, ma’am.” I was stripped down in no time, and I pushed her back on the bed before hovering above her. “How do you want me first?”

“Any way I can have you.”

“Yeah? Well, I want you in every way there is. But right now, I just need to be inside you. I need it like I need my next breath.”

“Me, too,” she whispered, raising her hips and teasing me.

That was all I needed to hear. My mouth crashed into hers, and my cock throbbed at her entrance. My heart was beating so fast, I was certain it would rip from my body.

This need.

This urgency.
