I love when he asks for pictures, it makes me feel so hot, so desired. Lowering myself back down on the bed, I pull down my tank top, exposing my hot pink bra and lots of cleavage. Seductively dipping a finger in my mouth, I give him my best fuck me eyes.

Snap.Send.

Aiden: You’re so sexy. I wish I were there right now.

Lexi: Oh, yeah? What would you do to me?

I take another picture but this time, I show him a little more than just my bra.

Aiden: Damn. You’re gorgeous. If you wanted to get me hard, mission accomplished. Going to have to stay at my desk so I don’t embarrass myself in front of the guys.

Lexi: That’s what you get for abandoning me tonight.

Aiden: I’m sorry, Lex. You know I’d rather be with you. It’s been crazy here lately. Tomorrow I’ll take you out and stay the night. I miss you, sweetheart. Let me get back to work though before I’m too hard to do anything other than take care of the problem you’ve created.

Lexi: I wish I were there to help with said problem. See ya tomorrow. XO.

Aiden: I love you.

Lexi: Love you more.

I toss the magazine on the floor, then fold my arms behind my head, and as I stare at the ceiling a sense of loneliness slams into me, weaving itself inside until I feel it everywhere.

I’m not the needy type, believe me, but there comes a point when the solitude turns dark and overwhelming. It’s as though I’m a bare tree without its colorful leaves nestling her with their warmth. Hell, maybe it’s the fact that I haven’t had sex in weeks. I miss the connection and it’s probably going to my head.

“Screw this.” I’m done feeling sorry for myself. I’m taking this into my own hands. I remove my pajama shorts and black tank and go to my closet for something sexy to wear. After all, if I’m going to surprise my fiancé at work, I need my outfit to make my intentions crystal clear.

I’m sure he can take a little break, and we can both use a little stress relief. I’ve had a fantasy about fucking him in his office, but the one time I mentioned it, he turned me down. This time, I’m not taking no for an answer.

Excitement surrounds me from within, my body tingling with electricity. Grabbing a tight blue jersey dress from my closet, I put it on before slipping into a pair of high-heeled nude sandals. Finally, I add a touch of mascara and a red lip. If looks could kill, I think this sure as hell will stop his heart.

I hurry out of my eighth-floor apartment and am greeted by the summer air, thick with humidity. I love the warm weather, but even that has its limits. July is no longer my friend, it’s my oppressor, suffocating everything in its path.

I get into my car, parked in the reserved spot in front, and turn on the engine, sending it cruising down the street. The drive from my apartment in Brooklyn to Wall Street shouldn’t take more than thirty minutes. A nervous hum of anticipation flutters inside me.

I hope he’ll love the unexpected visit. I’m sure he’s missed being with me as much as I’ve missed him.

If I’m lucky, Chris, the security guard, who loves me by the way, lets me in. Does he love me enough to break the rules? I guess we’ll soon see. For good measure, I stop by my favorite Chinese restaurant and grab some takeout for Aiden and me, and pick up a little something for my pal, Chris too. They do say a way to a man’s heart is with food, so here goes nothing.

My car bounces over some uneven pavement as I near my destination. I find a spot across the street, quickly getting out, and advance toward the building. The heavy glass doors slide open as soon as I approach the entrance.

The clacking of my heels is the only sound heard across the white porcelain tiles of the lobby as I near the security desk.

“Hey, Chris. How’s the family? Haven’t seen you in a while.”

“Hi, Ms. Philips, it’s been a hell of a while! Everyone’s good.” He rises to his feet, the chair scraping across the floor as he pushes it back. “The little rugrats are growing too damn fast. How’ve you been?”

“I’m great. Wedding plans have me all crazy. That’s why I’m here.” I grin. “I need to see Aiden to figure some things out for the big day. Oh, and before I forget…this is for you.” I lift the bag with chicken fried rice inside and place it on his desk.

“Ms. Philips, you didn’t have to do that!” He takes it without a moment’s hesitation. “Thank you.”

“No problem at all and call me Lexi.”

He smiles politely, the sides of his brown eyes crinkling. “Thank you, Lexi. Aiden sure knows how to pick ‘em.”

Heat rises to my cheeks. “Thank you.”

“Well, you go right ahead upstairs.” He winks. “Just sign in and you’re all set.”
