She grabbed her clothing and covered herself with it as best she could without putting it on.

“Come on,” she urged Jubal, as she crawled out of the tent and headed for the trees to wash up.

Her whole body ached and sang at the same time.

Last night had been incredible. She and Jubal were all over each other, every time she thought she couldn’t climax again, he had her begging and pleading for another.

How can we just stop when this week is over?

The idea was chilling, so she did her best to put it out of her mind as she bathed as quickly as possible in the crystal stream and then got dressed.

Jubal arrived at the stream just as she was closing the slide on her dress.

The sight of him in the dim light that filtered through the leaves was so mouthwatering that she had to jog back toward the meadow to avoid launching herself at him again.

“I’ll just clean up the campsite,” she yelled over her shoulder.

But when she reached the meadow, she saw that helper bots were just finishing up clearing everything away.

“Wow,” she said. “Thanks.”

The bots all turned to her, lights flashing shades of green, as if they were pleased to be appreciated.

“Dr. Pan will be waiting for you at the villa,” Oberon’s voice said. “You can have your morning check-up as soon as you arrive.”

“Might be more like an evening check-up by the time we get back down the mountain,” Chloe laughed.

She was certain that she was pregnant this morning. After their bonding yesterday, and their activities last night, it was almost impossible that Jubal’s seed wasn’t active.

She hugged herself, thinking about the life that was almost certainly thrumming inside her now.

The baby won’t be mine…

The thought was colder than the water in the stream, and she tried to focus on anything but that. After all, she was still here, still enjoying her time with Jubal. Ruining that by worrying about the future wouldn’t help.

But that mantra didn’t resonate with her anymore.

I want him. I want them both.

But her chances of that were zero. It was better to focus on the now.

“You’re both here,” Oberon said, rousing her from her thoughts. “Congratulations on winning the bet.”

She turned to see Jubal heading for her, a furrow on his handsome brow.

“Thank you,” he told Oberon, sounding less than victorious.

“As promised, when you get back to the villa, another wing will be opened up for you,” Oberon said. “That wing contains wonderful activities that you will see when you get there. And since I know you’re anxious to see it, I’ve arranged an alternate transport to get you back.”

“A craft?” Jubal guessed.

“A zipline,” Oberon said.

“Awesome,” Chloe said excitedly. “I always wanted to try ziplining.”

She turned to Jubal, and he gave her a warm smile, setting her heart at ease.

He’s just tired. We wore each other out last night.
