“I have to go home sometimes,” she said, smiling.

“Did you, uh, tell Greatty about us?” I asked curiously, wrapping my arms around her.

“Yes.”

“What did she say?”

Her eyes met mine. “She told me to be careful, and then said you need to come for dinner.”

“Why careful and when’s dinner?”

“Careful for all the reasons we’ve already talked about. Dinner is whenever you want. I need to go home today since I haven’t seen her in almost a week, but you can come with me, and we can cook together.”

I grimaced. “I’m not a rich, spoiled playboy who can’t do anything on his own, but cooking is not my forte.”

“No one is expecting you to cook,” she said. “You can pick up the wine.”

“That I can do.” I looked down at her hard nipples and reached out to touch them. “Does this mean you’re horny or cold?”

“Probably a little of both, but there will be no funny business with Dottie in the house.”

I pretended to pout. “No fair.”

“You’ll survive.” She turned her back to me and I grabbed my body wash.

We could shower, get dressed for the day, have breakfast, and then go shopping. We could pick up wine and anything else she needed and then go over to her place. I was genuinely looking forward to spending time with Greatty. She was important to Devyn, so she would be important to me as well.

It seemed like a given that we were going to be together and I wondered how to bring up going public. I knew she wanted to wait, but it was killing me. Kellan, Jesse, Greatty, and Grim already knew. Dorian knew too because I’d told her, even though I’d made her swear she wouldn’t tell the others. Keeping secrets made her job infinitely harder and I’d learned that early on in my career. Devyn would see that it was important too, and I trusted Dorian to keep our confidence, even if she didn’t agree with it.

I figured Z and Tommy had an inkling as well because they weren’t stupid and they’d hinted at it anyway. I’d played it off but I couldn’t do that for much longer. We were already in each other’s business night and day, and once we were on tour it would be that much more intense. There was zero chance Devyn and I were sleeping separately on the road, so I had to get to where she trusted me enough to handle any fallout.

Things were good, both personally and professionally.

I was ready to give her the commitment she wanted.

Our fans already loved her.

Sure, there would always be the assholes who felt free to say shit while hiding behind their keyboards, but they weren’t true fans. Our hardcore followers were like the crowd at the Whiskey and at the gig on Thanksgiving. They were the ones who bought the music and came to see us live. Who waited in line for hours just for a picture or a brief touch of our hands. Who followed us from city to city to see the show over and over. Those fans were the ones who would support us and would be happy that I’d fallen in love.

It was just a matter of convincing her of that.

Maybe I’d get Greatty in on my plan. If she agreed with me that might go a long way in convincing Devyn.

The thing was, I wasn’t quite sure what I was convincing her of.

Yes, I wanted to go public, but it felt like there was another piece to it.

Something I was missing.

I’d felt that way since the beginning, which was why I was working so hard to show her who I was and what we could have together.

She had to meet me halfway, though, and until she told me whatever it was she was hiding, I wasn’t sure how this was going to work.

As always, my gut was on high alert, whispering that her past with Larry was more important than she was letting on. Maybe it was time to do the digging I’d been putting off. If there was something to find, Chains and his team of cyber experts would find it. And once I knew what it was, it would be easier to make it all go away.
