I relax and watch as the twin hosts try to convince the homeowners to buy a fixer-upper. They are starting to knock down walls and redesign the first floor when the doorbell rings. With a grunt, Toto gets up and trots off to the door, and I grab my wallet from the counter, pulling out enough cash to cover the pizza and a tip before opening the door and cursing.

“I only ordered one. If you would have told me you were coming, I would have ordered more,” I complain when I find Nico on my doorstep with my pizza in his hands.

Toto wags his tail and gives him a happy bark. Nico pushes his way in just as Rex appears behind him with a couple of pizza boxes of his own.

I huff out a laugh. “Great minds think alike.”

I head back over to the sofa and sit down in the middle, just as Nico walks over and hands me a paper plate stacked with three pieces of pizza.

“Thank you.” I lift a slice and bite into it, moaning in satisfaction at the deliciousness. Generally, I try to eat healthy and keep my body in good shape, but pizza is one of my weaknesses.

“Beer?” he calls as he walks back into the kitchen for his own food.

“Just water.” I’ve already had two beers since I got home, and I rarely surpass that. My balance and alcohol are not friends.

“What are you guys doing here anyway? I thought you were going on a date.”

Rex plops down on one side of me, placing a bottle between my legs, making me jump.

“We went out, but we missed you.”

I sigh and lean into Nico when he sits on the other side of me. I balance my plate on my lap and eat the slice in my hand. “Tell me you at least got laid.”

Nico laughs. “Night’s still young, Jinx. And don’t worry, I know Rex is a sure thing.”

“Hey!” Rex protests with a mouthful of pizza as Toto walks over and lies next to Rex’s feet.

“Is he wrong?”

Rex snorts. “Fuck no. You’ve seen his dick. I’m weak, Jinx. Weak as fuck.”

I laugh as they toss insults at each other before Rex zeros in on me once more.

“Speaking of dick. Don’t think I didn’t see you eye fucking Mr. Tall, Dark, and Dangerous the other night.”

“I don’t know what you’re talking about.”

I picture the man at the gas station that he’s referring to and feel something flutter. Judging from where the fluttering is, it sure as shit isn’t butterflies.

I’m such a slut.

“Liar. Not that I can say I blame you. He was one fine specimen.”

“Way to objectify the man,” Nico grumbles.

“Don’t worry, Nico. You know my dick only throbs for you.”

I fake gag. “Jesus, I’m so glad that wasn’t in your wedding vows.”

“All I’m saying is you don’t usually react to men like that. Hell, I could take you to a strip show, and you’d be completely oblivious to the cock bouquets on offer all wrapped up in bows, but this guy… Something was electric between you.”

“Probably just his cut making me feel nostalgic.”

Motorcycle clubs get a bad rap, and most of it’s deserved. But the biggest draw to MC life is the sense of family. I might not have been a brother, but as an MC princess, I knew they would always have my back. Just like I’d always have theirs.

“Cut? Who?” Nico’s voice turns sharp.

I shrug. He wasn’t close enough for me to make out the emblem.
