“Yeah, Jase? Keep your fuckin’ sister away from my mate. If she gets anywhere near her and pulls any of her typical bullshit, I will call a pack-wide vote, nominate to have her booted.”

Jase raises his hand in a non-verbal gesture that lets me know he gets it. Sherry Creed hasn’t shown her face much since Bailey punched her in the face for blowing shit up with Mase and Amie at Tyson and Ivy’s wedding reception.

Mase’s jaw flexes. I know he’s still not past his animosity with Sherry Creed. Jase’s eyes bounce to Mase’s with apology.

“Jase isn’t responsible for his sister’s bullshit, boys,” Joel advises.

“No, but I will have a word with her,” Jase replies.

After I finish bringing them up to speed, Ty makes sure to crow about his brilliant idea to lock us up.

I roll my eyes at his ribbing and when I’ve had enough, give him a playful shove, which lands him in the water.

He comes up laughing, then hugs me, pounding my back and congratulating me.

That all done, Grey gives me his update, filling me in on what I’ve missed from his camp. He’s enjoying time with his mate who was only doing her asshole alpha brother’s bidding. Ty holds no ill feelings toward her, but wants to talk to her when Grey’s ready to bring her out in the open so he can get more info about her father, the man she says he supposedly killed, which is what fueled her alpha brother’s plans.

He needs to be stopped. He’s gonna come at us again, we’re sure of it. Joel and Grey are still doing some fact-finding and will keep me in the loop about the next steps, which I absolutely want to be part of.

He tried to steal my mate twice. He shot, stabbed, and drugged me. Shot Mase and Linc, too. Grey does know from his mate that her brother wants our territory. He wants to rule our pack since he considers it a status symbol. We’ve got the largest pack known in North America and he thinks it’s ridiculous that it’s looked after by seven alphas. Figures he could handle it all by himself. He wants the council alphas dead as a show of his dominance and superiority, and he plans to accomplish it by having a witch at his command to do his bidding.

We’ll be tackling that issue after this SCC meeting coming up. All seven of us will be there and then when that’s behind us, we’ll work to disable that shithead in Silver Hills. And maybe Rikki’s coven can help. Grey’s already talked to the older sister Vivica about all this and they’ve agreed to be on-call for us.

I fill him in on my conversation with his father and he is not pleased, tells us his father has made the topic of the Youngs a no-go in his household. We agree Greyson and I will share managing the coven relationship going forward.

“Where are we gonna put ‘em?” Joel asks. “The three from the council.”

Ty speaks. “If it were normal guests, I’d have them at my house since we have so much room. But can we keep these people outside the village somewhere? Drowsy Hollow? I don’t trust them here.”

“Good point,” I reply. “I’ll call the couple who owns the resort across the lake with those cabins for rent. See if they have a vacancy. Maybe Mase can ferry them back and forth on his boat.”

“Good idea. Not sure I want them here either. I’m happy to run ‘em back and forth,” Mase replies.

Being driven into the village of Arcana Falls feels strange. So much has happened since I first drove here. No way would the me of a week and a half ago believe that in such a short time I could get to where I am now.

Getting held and purred for by Riley.

Eating banana splits in bed last night with Riley. The best banana split I’ve had in my life.

Having sex dozens and dozens of times with Riley.

Mm, Riley…

And is he ever good at sex! He knows how to kiss. He’s a god with his tongue. And that swirling, buzzing, steel-hard instrument of his? I’m its slave. Honestly. I can’t get enough of it.

And he is over the moon at the fact that I saved my virginity for him. Over. The. Moon. It feels pretty awesome to have validation that saving it was the right choice. That I will never, ever regret who I gave it to.

I certainly never expected at the end of the seven days together in Tyson Savage’s cabin that I’d be ending it in Riley’s truck, Riley’s hand on my thigh as he drives me to his house, which he’s calling our house.

We pass the intersection with big barn that is their town hall and gas station where my van had been parked, though I know it’s still at Lincoln and Jase’s place. We keep going past a dozen or so homes before we’re pulling into a driveway on the left just before the next corner that I know has Roxy’s Bar. In fact, I can see the roof of the building, which means it’s easy walking distance, or… stumbling distance as Riley said.
