I honestly expected the concierge to tell Tripp to change, that despite their laid-back beach vibes, they drew the line at sweaty soccer uniforms. But he didn't, just nodded and smiled as we walked in and out toward the back patio area.
"Did you reserve a cabana for after dinner?" I asked, hoping he did so we could be alone for a while. With Diane staying at our apartment, we weren't alone as much as I was used to.
"I didn't," he shrugged, then opened the door. "I reserved the whole fucking beach."
As I looked ahead, the first thing I saw were candles lit everywhere the eye could see. It must have taken hours to light them all, placed strategically on the walking paths, tables, and out into the sand. Then I realized there was no one else around, just us, and Tripp moved me forward as we navigated the candles toward the water.
When I turned around to face him in shock, I saw Diane and my mom with their arms looped and their heads pressed together with a smile. My dad was standing off to the side with his hands in his pockets and a smile on his face.
Behind him, I saw Colton, who looked unsure of himself and stood back farther than everyone else. He was there but wasn't sure he should be, which was fair since I had no idea what was happening.
"A little over a year ago," Tripp whispered, turning me to face him. "I saw you eating cheese dip and fell in love. The way your shoulders moved, and your body danced. Right here, in this spot."
Glancing around, I noticed the chairs had been moved, and we were standing exactly where I was sitting when we met. When I looked back at Tripp, I realized what was happening, and tears started spilling from my eyes.
"I met you that day thinking I had it all figured out. That whatever it was about you that drew me in was nothing more than something I wanted to fulfill and move on from. Fuck I was such an idiot. Because from that moment, I would never get enough of you. I know we had some hard shit to get through, but honestly Coconut, I'd do all that hard shit over again to land here today."
"Oh my God," I whispered, bringing my hands to my mouth and making Tripp smirk.
Lowering himself to one knee, he pulled a ring from somewhere and looked up at me. "Will you marry me?"
"God, yes," I screamed, then launched into his arms. He fell back into the sand and held me tight as I kissed him. Even with our families watching, I couldn't stop, wanting to soak in the moment and his words.
"If you want someone to watch," Tripp whispered quietly, "please don't let it be my mom. Or your mom."
Busting out a laugh, I let him up just as our parents were crowding around us. Tripp slipped the ring onto my finger and lifted me for one more kiss.
When I looked back to where Colton was, he smiled and nodded before taking a few steps backward. I didn't make a move to stop him, but Tripp took a minute and nodded back at him before Colton turned and walked away.
"I asked him to come."
"You spoke to him?"
"Just in a text," Tripp shrugged. "I know we have a lot to work through, but I didn't want to start our forever without everyone we love being a part of it. It'll be okay, Coconut. Let him go. Let's celebrate tonight."

"Ash and Lily are both pregnant!"
"Calm down," I laughed, "you will be pregnant too one day."
"But I want to be pregnant with them," she pouted, jutting her lip out.
Leaning over, I took her lip between my teeth and pulled her toward me on the couch, making her straddle my lap. "Let me get you pregnant then."
"We've been trying!" Tatum threw her arms in the air, making me grab them and hold them at her sides.
"Let's try again," I moaned, pushing my cock up into her core, letting her feel me growing hard with just the idea.
"Maybe something is wrong with me."
"Nothing is wrong," I assured her, pressing my forehead to hers. "It's just not our turn."
"You guys did this to me!" She shook her arm loose from my hold and pointed at me, furrowing her brow. "You three all proposed to us on the same night. We all got married within the year, and now we all want babies."
