“I saw your little showdown with Dana,” Alicia said, pulling my attention back to her.

I rolled my eyes. “I don’t know what you’re talking about.”

She laughed, nudging me. “I saw your face when she touched Jace. You were jealous as hell. I’ve never seen that from you before. Being bitchy is usually my forte.”

“She doesn’t need to get involved with Jace,” I responded with a shrug. “It’s dangerous.”

“I’m sure you’re just looking out for her,” she replied sarcastically, with a shake of her head. “Are you ever going to admit that you have feelings for them?”

I groaned. “Alicia. Even if that were true, nothing would ever fucking come from it. We’re all fighting for the same thing, and only one will take it.”

“Fine, I’ll drop it.” She backed away. “Let’s get back to dancing.”

I grinned, following her back to the dance floor. The next couple of hours flew by as we danced and drank, chatting with some people from other schools. The alcohol was flowing through my veins, and I enjoyed the buzz as midnight crept closer.

We were back on the dance floor, and I tensed when fingers suddenly dug into my hip. Alicia was in front of me, and I glanced over my shoulder, fully expecting to see one of the three guys who hadn’t stopped looking at me all night. Instead, it was a different face.

He grinned. “Hey, Rynn. Miss me?”

It was the guy I was with in the woods when I met Gage, and I still couldn’t remember his damn name. Without waiting for me to answer him, he pulled my back into his chest, wrapping his arm around me.

“Dance with me,” he said in my ear.

“Might not want to do that, Hal,” Alicia warned him loudly.

“Why? Not single anymore?” he questioned me, his hold staying tight. “I haven’t seen you dance with another guy all night.”

A new hand grabbed my arm, yanking me away from Hal and into another chest. I looked up, seeing Kian glaring at Hal.

“You’re his girl?” Hal asked doubtfully, his gaze cutting to me.

“No,” I answered sharply.

“She’s mine right now,” Kian said at the same time. “Fuck off.”

“I don’t think so,” Hal snapped, his anger growing. “She said no.”

Behind Hal, I saw Gage watching from the side of the dance floor. He was rigid but raised an eyebrow when he caught my gaze. I bit my tongue, knowing he wasn’t going to intervene. After what he said earlier about wanting to distance himself for my safety, he couldn’t act like a jealous boyfriend in public. And even though I was sure he wasn’t happy about Kian touching me, he’d made it clear in Sterling that he’d rather it be Jace or Kian than another guy. I wasn’t sure how I felt about the three of them making some kind of tense truce when it came to me.

“One dance,” Kian murmured in my ear.

“Get off her.” Hal stepped closer. “I was dancing with her first.”

Realizing this was quickly going to turn into a pissing match, I spoke up. “Just go, Hal.”

“You’re fucking kidding me,” he sputtered out, his hands clenching into fists as I dismissed him. “You choose tatted up criminal assholes over me?”

“Watch it,” Kian threatened, becoming impatient.

“Fucking slut,” he spat out. “I should have known you were easy when I touched you in the woods.”

Alicia let out a gasp when Kian released me and shot forward, his fist smashing against Hal’s jaw. I took a step back when Hal let out a snarl before lunging forward. Kian ducked from Hal’s punch, throwing another one of his own directly into Hal’s nose. He let out an agonized scream, his hands covering his face as blood poured out. Kian went for him again, and I grabbed the back of his shirt, yanking him into me.

“He’s not someone you can just make disappear,” I reminded him. “He has a powerful family.”

Kian grinned as he shook out his hand. “Worried about me going to jail?”

Before I could answer, two security guards appeared, looking at Alicia for orders. She pointed at Hal before glancing at me questioningly, wanting to know if she should have Kian kicked out too. After a moment, I shook my head. If they both got thrown outside, they’d fight again, and Hal most likely would get killed. I really didn’t feel like dealing with that.
