I leaned close, resting my hand on her thigh. “Because you need it.”

She sighed. “No. We need to figure out what to do about Hayes—”

“Not tonight,” I interrupted. “No business talk at the tables.”

“Gage—”

“Come on, Rynn,” Kian coaxed, sitting on the other side of her. “Scared to lose?”

She rolled her eyes. “Baiting me? And I played with both of you that summer. I’ve never lost to either of you.”

A competitive edge entered her voice, and I grinned, knowing she wasn’t going to leave the table now. Hyde stepped up to the table and started passing out chips while other guys who worked for her did the same at the other tables.

“Hyde is working, so don’t worry about it,” I told her as she stacked her chips in front of her. “Here.”

I grabbed a shot glass from beside me and filled it, then slid it to her. She glanced at Jace and Kian before looking back at me.

“All three of you are playing?” she asked doubtfully.

“We can get along for a night, Rynn,” Kian promised, giving her a playful grin.

“And if we can’t, the cage is right there,” I added, only half-joking.

She didn’t look fully convinced, but she leaned back in her chair, getting comfortable as she downed the shot I’d given her. One of Hyde’s friends came and sat at the table with a new deck of cards. He shuffled and then passed out five to each of us. Jace grew serious, clearly not wanting to lose, and I scooped up my cards, glancing at what I had.

The game started, and Rynn was already throwing her chips in the center, a grin forming on her face that had my heart beating faster. Fuck, I missed seeing that smile. Dealing with Jace and Kian for one night was worth it if it made her happy. And I knew I’d be the one going back to her room with her after this, so I could enjoy the night, even with them here. I threw in my bet, relaxing for the first time in days.

A few hours later,Rynn was buzzed, and she was having a great time taking all our chips. The amount of alcohol in her bloodstream wasn’t messing with her game, and she had a pile of chips while the three of us had enough for maybe a couple more hands. I didn’t like losing at anything, but winning paled in comparison to seeing her eyes bright and alive again.

“I fold,” Jace grumbled, tossing his cards down.

Rynn let out a giggle, her gaze going to Kian as he debated what to do. She leaned close to him, and he tipped his cards down so she couldn’t see what he had.

“Think you have a winning hand?” she taunted him, her hand falling to his thigh.

I bit my tongue, my skin prickling as she touched him. I promised myself I wouldn’t start any fights tonight, but seeing that was seriously testing my self-control. Kian’s eyes darted from her hand, then back to her face.

“You’re distracting me,” he murmured, not looking upset about it at all. “Trying to get me to fold?”

“Of course not,” she replied with a wicked grin. “I want you to play. And how about if you win this hand, then I owe you a kiss?”

“What?” I sputtered out, my pulse spiking.

Leaving her hand on Kian’s leg, she turned to face me, her eyes gleaming with trouble. “I’m not leaving you out, Gage. If you win, then you get a kiss.”

“You say this after I already folded?” Jace complained, leaning his arms on the table as he stared at Rynn. “What are you up to?”

“Nothing. Just trying to have fun.”

I wrapped my arm around her waist, tugging her closer and forcing her to let go of Kian’s thigh. “You want to have that kind of fun, then I’ll take you back to your room.”

“But I don’t want to play with just you right now,” she purred, her voice downright sinful. “Kian said you three could get along for one night.”

“To play poker,” I growled, my anger growing even as dirty thoughts about throwing her onto this table crowded my mind. “Nothing else.”

“Where’s the fun in that?” She lifted her head, her teeth grazing my earlobe in a way that had my dick growing hard in my jeans. “If you don’t want to play, then you can fold. And then you can watch me kiss Kian if he wins.”
