“Parker, are you okay?”

“Parker?!”

His voice gets softer as my world is enveloped in darkness. The only sound I can hear is my weak heartbeat thudding in my ears as I’m pulled into the deep.

Hudson

Flashback…

Hudson

“Where will you go?” Victoria asked Hudson.

The water on his hands dripped onto the floor. He laced his fingers together as he stared at the ground.

“Anywhere else but here,” he said.

Suddenly, John stalked into the room. His face was tired from the long day and his clothes were dishevelled.

“You’ve fucked up this time,” he spat at Hudson. “I always knew you’d do something to fuck up our perfectly quiet life. Do you know what I had to do to get rid of that body?”

“I-I wasn’t thinking, dad,” he whispered.

“Because you never think of anyone but yourself. Do you know why? You’re fucking selfish.”

“You always made your choice clear. If Matt did it, you wouldn’t be so angry,” his voice was shaky.

“That’s where you’re wrong. Matt wouldn’t do it because he isn’t you. It wouldn’t have crossed his mind!”

“John,” Victoria reached out for her husband but he stood back.

“Don’t tell me to stop. Whatever I’m doing is for reason,” John said. “He needs to learn that everything has a consequence.”

“I’m selfish?” Hudson’s voice dripped with bitterness as he balled his fists and stood up. “I—I couldn’t stop seeing her face and the blood and then—and then when I saw him things just got out of control! I couldn’t stop myself from doing it. It had to be done. He had to go!” He was screaming now, his throat raw from letting everything out and his face hot with tears and anger.

His father turned away and his mother reached out for him, but Hudson moved backwards. “It’s never good enough. I’m never good enough. Me wanting to find peace for our family isn’t enough! I don’t regret stabbing him. I don’t feel anything. It’s empty inside! Stop pretending that everything is normal when it’s not! Stop pretending to care when you don’t!”

Victoria let out a loud sob as she fell to her knees. “Stop it. Stop saying those things. You don’t mean it.”

“I do mean it,” Hudson said, staring right back into his father’s empty green eyes. “I don’t want to pretend anymore. Stop trying to fucking control my life.”

Do You Want To Drive Me Crazy

Parker

When I first wake up, there’s a shooting pain that travels to my head. My mouth feels dry and I’m extremely thirsty.

“How are you feeling, Parker?” It’s a woman’s voice. It’s as sweet as honey. “I’m Doctor Caroline Denbrough. I’ve been with you all night.”

“It’s hurting everywhere,” I whisper, forcing my eyes open to see a dark-haired woman beside me with a face towel in her pale hands.

Her face is warm and radiant as she smiles at me. “Well, you’re lucky I got here in time. I’ve administered a vial of Naloxone to your body, which means that you need to take off from classes today and just relax,” she explains in a calm, soothing voice. “The Naloxone shot is an antidote for opioid overdoses, but there will be some side-effects.”

“Opioids?” I ask.
