Craven is at ease with me being around other men, he knows nobody would dare to get close. I carry the Draugar brand, which means that if anyone tries anything, they’ll awaken the wrath of an entire royal bloodline.

“Hm...let him play,” I murmur, in response to Craven, “he’s having too much fun and we don’t want to be party poopers.”

Grinning, Craven lowers his face and rubs his lips against my cheek. “As you wish.”

A smile crosses my lips and I let out a laugh when I notice Wella, trying to fend off a bunch of drunken Berserker’s. She throws me an infuriated glare but I stay put. That girl can handle herself.

Just like I can.

“You know, I’m waiting for you to ask me to dance,” I tease, glancing up at Craven because I’ve been moving my hips to old pop songs for the last thirty minutes now.

Craven’s jaw clenches and I hide a laugh. My poor mate...he really does despise these kinds of gatherings.

“Have I ever denied you anything?” he groans, wraps his arms around my waist then spins me around. Tossing my head back, I laugh and grind my behind against Craven.

He lets out a low groan, sliding his hand up and down my waist and I know he’s just dying to grope me.

His breaths turn ragged and so do mine.

Damn, we can’t do it right in front of everyone.

Can we?

Looking into each other’s eyes, we silently promise to finish what we’ve started later tonight, then turn around when we notice Cass running up to us.

I quickly snatch a napkin and wipe off his cake sticky hands.

Can’t have my new, glamorous dress ruined. Craven took me to Europe a couple of weeks ago and bought it for me. It just so happens to fit me like a glove, but then again I know it’ll be torn to shreds before midnight.

Cass does grabby hands and we scoop him up. Holding our son between us, we dance for the rest of the evening...

...Underneath the fairy lights.

The End
