“I’m so happy for you, sweetheart,” she whispers.

When I look up my father is standing right beside us. “I’m getting married, Papi.”

He wraps his arms around my mom and me together. “Congratulations, mija,” he says and I swear my heart feels like it’s about to burst.

“Jax. Get over here,” my mom says and he walks over, too. My mom hugs him and then she glares at my father until he shakes Jax’s hand.

“Congratulations, amigo,” he says.

“Thanks,” Jax smiles at him and then he puts his arm around me while he holds onto Matthias with the other.

“Oh you three look so adorable together,” my mom says as her eyes fill with tears. My father rolls his eyes but then he catches my eye and winks at me.

“We need some champagne to celebrate,” my mom says.

As we start to walk down the hallway, Jax stops suddenly and we all look at him.

“Fuck!” he whispers.

“What is it?” I ask.

“Who’s going to be my best man?” he frowns.

“Jax!” My mom gives him a nudge on the arm.

“What? This is a serious question, Alana. There are not many people that I like in this world. And my best buddy will be pulling father of the bride duties.”

“I sure will.” My father wraps an arm around my shoulder and we start to walk through the house. “You’re on your own, amigo.”

EPILOGUE

LUCIA

Six Months Later

I frown at Jax as I follow him inside my father’s nightclub. We’re getting married tomorrow and I’m supposed to be on my way to my parents’ house for an afternoon and evening of pampering and champagne with my mom, her friend, Kelsey, Jax’s aunt Molly, Jordan and Magda. Jax is spending the night at my father’s hotel with him, Hugo and my friend Archer, who Jax has taken a liking to. Matthias and the twins will be there, too, but on his way to drop me off, Jax detoured here and told me he had a surprise for me.

“What are we doing here?” I smile at him. It’s only mid-afternoon. The place doesn’t open for hours and there is nobody here. “My mom will be waiting for me and you’re due at the hotel.”

“Everyone can wait,” he assures me, and then he takes my hand and leads me toward the huge dance-floor, right beneath the booth where the DJ is usually situated. It’s strangely eerie in here like this. Usually, it’s so busy it’s impossible to move through the crowd without pressing up against dozens of random strangers.

“Jax?” I ask again.

“Patience, Angel,” he says with a wink as he takes a small remote control from his pocket. He presses a button and the lights above us start to flash. With the press of another button, the club is filled with music as the opening beats of Señorita start to play.

“I love this song,” I say, still unsure what we are doing here.

“I know,” he growls, putting the remote back into his pocket and sliding his arms around my waist. “And ever since I saw you dancing with that asshole frat boy in that awful fucking club, every single time I hear it, I think about you. Twice I’ve had to watch you dance to this song. Now it’s my turn.”

“It is, huh?” I whisper as I snake my arms around his neck.

“Hmm.” He bends his head and trails soft kisses over my delicate skin as he speaks. “I think about it all the time. The way your hips move when you dance.”

Kiss.

“How hot your ass looked in that tiny dress.”

Kiss.
