He had a pink tutu on and fluffy socks that were white with pink ruffles. His wrists had more pink ruffles and when he neighed to prove his status, I couldn’t contain my laughter any longer.

“I’ve never seen anything like it,” Declan said as he pulled out his phone to take photos, Dante giving him the finger as he posed for the pictures.

“Can we go now please?” Fabian said, tugging on Luca’s arm.

“Sure thing Fab. Check with Connor on the itinerary.” He muttered. Connor had emailed us a map of the street with a makeshift game of solving the murder, ironic for us, that he had convinced the entire street to be involved with it.

“The first clue is at the Donahue’s house at the beginning of the street. Let’s go.” Connor said, taking Aisling from Elsie’s arm.

“Declan and Benjamin are staying behind to manage our house and the candy,” Connor said before we all followed him.

Liam’s phone rang and he stopped to talk quietly, his eyes lighting up with concern and then urgency before he hung up.

“That was the station. We got one of the Hydra boys in custody. I should go down…” He started and Connor pointed at him and snarled.

“No. You stay. We are doing this as a family. The kid isn’t going anywhere, and you can go once our trick-or-treating is done. Send Benjamin a message and he can send Killian down there to watch.” Liam raised his hands in mock defeat before he did what Connor said.

“This is going to be a long night,” Luca whispered before the kids knocked on the first door and began our quest to find the murderer.

“That’s a lot of candy you have little bunny.” I purred as we wandered the street. Aurora had a second bucket that Fabian asked her to hold, and she grinned mischievously, sliding her mask back in place.

“Put your mask back on, Mr. Wolf.” She purred, watching me as I pulled it back over my face.

“See that park over there?” She pointed to the end of the street where a huge park with dense trees on one end that marked the edge of this neighborhood and a playground on the other side.

“Yeah…” I said as she grabbed a lollipop from the bucket and dropped it on the ground.

“Oops. I dropped my candy. Looks like I will be leaving a trail for you to follow.” she said with a wink before she ran off toward the tree line.

“Wicked woman,” I muttered as Caleb caught my eye and grinned.

“Go. We will cover for you if Connor notices you are gone. Happy hunting, wolf.” He said as I waved at him and jogged towards the park.

There were plenty of kids on the playground still, but the daylight was almost gone, and parents were beginning to round them up.

I noticed the trail of candy leading into the trees and smiled. A sweet breadcrumb trail to follow.

I walked into the trees, surprised at how quickly the sounds around us were muffled as I searched for signs of Aurora.

“Little bunny, I am going to catch you,” I called, and her answering laugh was all I needed to know where she was.

I walked further into the trees, sparing a thought for how dense everything was when I heard a twig snap and saw her little bunny ears dart behind a tree.

My heart pounded in my chest as I jogged in her direction. She gasped as I came around the tree and reached for her.

She grinned up at me, then twisted in my grip, using a maneuver I had taught her to get out of my grasp and I let her go watching her run away.

“Close, Mr. Wolf but no dice.” She called in a singsong voice and laughed. Oh, I liked this game.

“When I catch you, I am going to kiss you so damn hard then I am going to strip those pants from your body, bend you over and fuck you silly.” I snarled and she giggled in the distance.

“Come catch me before you talk big.” She teased me and I ran towards her. I was almost within reach when she darted away again, the edge of her hair striking my face.

I could hear her panting as she ran, and my cock was hard as a rock. I gave her a few seconds before following but she had disappeared. I stopped, listening for the sounds of her presence beneath the creaking of the trees and the muffled sounds of people back on the street.

When I heard her harsh breathing from a tree near me, I smiled and tilted my head up to the sky, and howled like a damn kid, the adrenaline rushing through my system as I hunted her.

I headed towards a tree near her hiding spot, making out that I was going to walk past her before I spun quickly, catching her around the waist before she could run again.
