CHAPTER1
Stacy Rivera stared at her friend. She’d never seen her happier. The lucky bitch had just married her men and she understood why she was happy. The ranch was wonderful. Her husbands were so damn handsome, it was unbelievable.
It had taken her a while, but now Kalie had everything she’d ever wanted except for a family, and from the way they acted like rabbits, that should be happening soon.
A man walked up beside her.
“Ma’am, I need you to come with me,” he said.
Turning, she gazed at him, her brows raising. “Whatever for?”
“You’re under arrest,” he said.
She started laughing. “Did Kalie put you up to this?”
“No, ma’am,” he said. “I work with the Texas Rangers and I’ve been watching you undercover.”
“Well good for you,” she said laughing. “I haven’t done anything wrong. I’m not going with you. Besides, this is my friend’s wedding. I’m waiting to catch the bouquet and then I’ll be getting into my rental car and going back to San Antonio for the night. Tomorrow, I fly back to New York.”
The man sighed. “Are you coming with me or not?”
“No,” she said.
The man had on a suit coat and a dark hat, and his emerald eyes were dark.
Just then a second man walked up. “Is she the one?”
“She’s our perp,” the man said.
“Are you guys serious?” she said.
They surrounded her and then she felt the slip of the handcuffs on her wrist.
“Hey,” she said.
“Let’s go,” the man in the dark hat said.
“I want to see a badge.”
Suddenly a man stepped out of the shadows in front of them.
“What are you doing?”
The two men grinned. “Having fun.”
“Let her go,” he said. She gazed at him. He had the most gorgeous head of hair with streaks of gray in it. His eyes were an intense shade of jade.
She felt the handcuffs release and the two young men grinned.
“We meant no harm. It’s just a prank we like to play,” one of them said.
“Get out of here,” the man told them.
After they were gone, she glanced at him.
“Sorry about that. They’re my younger brothers. They get into mischief.”
Stacy gazed at the man. “And who are you?”
