Being a bioscientist, he’d created a new beauty product guaranteed to make women’s skin look younger and then he’d gone on to create a line of skin care that softened age. All in all, every one of his investors had made a lot of money. Including Luis.

It was what helped him and Luis afford this ranch. Here was his peaceful place. Where his mind often created new products. Where he dreamed of settling down with a woman and starting a family.

A family unlike his own.

But he and Luis were friends, and while the man might have acted family friendly, he really wasn’t. And in many ways, Trevor couldn’t blame him.

Once the sun came up, he went outside and fed the chickens. When he came back in, Luis was up, fixing breakfast.

“Good morning,” he said. “Can’t believe you got up so early. Not after a night like last night.”

Trevor grinned. “Best night we’ve had in years. At first, I was skeptical of bringing Stacy home, but now I’m so damn glad we did.”

Stacy was incredible and he really liked her. She was smart, funny, and so damn sexy, he didn’t know how much he would be able to take.

Nodding, Luis pulled out a slab of bacon. “I think we’re going to need protein to sustain us this week.”

Sinking down at the kitchen table, Trevor shook his head.

“Did you really think it would be that good when she agreed to come home with us?”

The house had an old-fashioned kitchen that opened into a separate dining room. But there was a small breakfast nook where they could drink their morning coffee and look out at the pastures where the cattle roamed.

“No,” Luis said as he put a slice of bacon in the pan.

“What do we do with her now?” Trevor asked. He didn’t have all week to spend in bed with her, though it was tempting. And he didn’t want to train her for another two men.

He liked this woman and even wondered if she was the one he wanted to settle down with. Time would tell.

The smell of bacon wafted through the kitchen as Luis cooked.

“Today, I thought we would put her on the back of a horse and show her around the ranch. You’ve been wanting to ride out to the back pasture and check the fence.”

Two weeks ago, he’d hired men to replace the back line with new barbwire. He wanted to check it out to make sure it met his standards. They didn’t need their cattle roaming off down the highway.

“Good idea,” he said. “Do you think she knows how to handle a horse? She’s from New York City. There aren’t many horses there for riding.”

Luis chuckled. “Guess we’ll find out. Damn, last night was good.”

And it had been. Unless a woman was from Blessing, they often didn’t take very kindly to the idea of two men at once. It had backfired on them before. While Stacy wasn’t from around here, she’d seen her friend Kalie and knew what to expect.

“I was tempted to wake her up with sex again this morning. But I needed a break and I felt like maybe she did too. Not a long one, but a chance to recuperate.”

A chuckle came from Luis. “Maybe a soak in the hot tub tonight.”

“That sounds good,” he said.

“When do you have to go back to Houston?”

“I’ve got an important meeting next week I’ll have to be there for. What about you? What are your plans this week?”

Being the company boss was mighty nice. He could come and go as he pleased. Even Luis was free. The money they’d made when they were younger afforded them the lifestyle they wanted. A lifestyle that let them make their own hours.

“I’m meeting some of my old team members next week in Houston. I’ve got a family function Wednesday night. It’s my mother’s birthday, but other than that I’m free.”

Trevor couldn’t help but grin. “Your mother saw everything last night. You know she wants you to find a woman and settle down. She told me herself it was time you married.”

Luis’s family was one of the original settlers in Blessing. For generations, the men had shared a woman and wanted that for their grown children.
