The father who did nothing but make fun of him. Who ridiculed him because he was so smart.

“Momma, stop crying. It’s time for Diego to choose his path. We can no longer help him,” he said.

“Son, promise me you’re going to find a beautiful, smart, young woman and settle down. I want to hold your babies before I die,” she said, sniffling.

The image of Stacy came to mind and the thought of her belly swelling with his child filled him with warmth. But that wasn’t what Luis wanted. And he’d only known her for several days. Time would decide if she was the one for him.

“When are you going to come see me?”

Two weeks ago when he went to Houston, he stopped by and visited her and the rest of his family. This was not the week he wanted to think about them. The thought of Stacy naked in the hot tub flashed in his head and he wanted to get off this phone as soon as possible. This was his week with her.

“Momma, I promise I’ll come by soon. I’ve got to go. We have company and I want to get back to my guests,” he said.

There was a moment of silence and then he heard the hopeful note in her voice. “Oh, you have company? A woman?”

“Goodnight, Momma. Let me know what Diego decides to do,” he said. “And you can tell him no more money from me. Time for him to become a man.”

She gave a giggle. “It must be a woman. You sound anxious.”

“Goodnight, Momma,” he said again.

“Goodnight, my son, bring her to meet me,” she said. “Oh, I hope she’s the one.”

He disconnected the call and turned. Stacy stood in the doorway of the house.

“Sorry, I came in to get us more champagne,” she said.

“No problem,” he said. “That was my mother.”

A smile spread across her face. “I could tell. Mothers can be very insistent sometimes.”

“Yes,” he said. “Plus, she was upset about my little brother Diego dropping out of college. I’m done with him. He’s on his own.”

She walked into the kitchen and he followed her.

“How many brothers and sisters do you have?” she asked.

“Two brothers and two sisters. There are five of us. We struggled when I was a child. No money and food was scarce. It was one of the reasons I knew I would be successful,” he said taking the champagne bottle from her hands.

“Are you paying for your brothers and sisters to go to college?”

“Yes,” he said. “It was the least I could do to help them.”

So far only one of them had flunked out and that was Diego. But hopefully he would soon learn that not having a degree would not help him move up in this world. And no, he would not receive a monthly stipend to live on. Trevor wasn’t a money tree.

He pulled her in close to his naked body.

“This is the kind of life I’ve always dreamed of having. But I’d love it even more if there was a woman between us all the time,” he said.

He saw the confusion in her gaze.

“But I live in New York and you’re here,” she said, running her hand down his face. At her touch, his cock began to harden.

“I know,” he said. “Let’s just see how this week goes.”

“Trevor,” she said as he put the cold champagne bottle against her nipples, sending a ripple through her. “What is the divorce rate in Blessing?”

He laughed. “I’m not sure, but it’s very low.”
