“Fuck off,” he says, and Tomas growls at him.

“Be nice,” he says, and Bennet’s cheeks flush an even darker red as they disappear inside the house.

Oh, I do love it when Tomas gets all protective. It’s all he’s ever been since being with me. I adore it.

“We’re here!” Trenton calls out, and I swivel on my heels, seeing Tomas’s friends appear. Max and Jordan are trailing behind Trenton, looking like they’re ready to be put to work.

“Thank god you guys are here. I was worried I’d have to lift heavy stuff,” I exclaim, and Max arches an eyebrow at me.

“I’ve seen the things you can do with those legs.”

I flush and then wave my hand around my face. “Yes, well, they must be protected at all costs. And lifting refrigerators is not it. That’s for big men like you.”

Max lifts his arms and flexes, and I laugh as Tomas appears next to me.

“Stop showing off,” Tomas says and then leans down and kisses my cheek. “He’s mine.”

“Yeah, yeah we know,” Trenton grumbles and then moves to grab some boxes from the truck.

“Hey, Dad, careful with that plant,” I call out, but my dad just ignores me, carrying two of them inside without concern. Well, little does he know, those pots were expensive and I plan on keeping them. He better not break them.

“Come on,” Tomas says. “I want to show you something.”

“What?” I ask as he pulls me inside. My fingers are wrapped around his, and my heart swells as it always does. I feel so deeply for him. I’m so damn happy with this man.

I love him. I haven’t stopped. I’m so glad we had that talk after MMM night when we finally admitted that we wanted to be exclusive. I’d already sent Leo a text telling him the collaboration was off, and that I was just going to be focusing on myself for a while.

He seemed disappointed, but Carter promised to help him out, so I didn’t feel bad about it. He’s been doing just fine without me. And when I told Carter I wasn’t going to be branching out anymore, he looked at me and said,“Of course you don’t want to. You’re in love, you idiot.”

His words echo in my head as I follow Tomas into the house and down the hallway. I brushed Carter off that day, feeling flustered and dumb at the thought of being in love. I mean, I’m moving in with Tomas, and I don’t want to fuck anyone else—and oh my god, I do not want anyone else to touch him either—but that’s not…

I stand there kind of slack-jawed because is that what this is?

Tomas has told me over and over that he loves me, but I’ve been holding back, been waiting for…something.

But now that I stand here and think about it, I realize he is on my mind all the time. I spend hours just watching him, can’t seem to stop myself sometimes. And it’s not all sex either. I think about so many things, plan for so many things. Things like visiting him at work, watching him take an engine apart, and going to the farmers market in town. Things in the future, weddings and kids and dogs.

Oh god.

No dogs.

I made him swear to never ever get me one. We are not going there.

“Come on,” he says as we pass by the bedroom where our new bed sits. We actually picked it out yesterday because his was too small and we wanted to start afresh together. We’ve already broken it in twice. That headboard is glorious.

“Where are you taking me?” I ask as he stops at the door leading to the backyard.

“Shut your eyes and no peeking.”

I do as he says, letting my lids flutter closed, and then I hear the door swing open and feel Tomas grab on to my hand, pulling me out into the cool winter air.

“What is this?” I breathe when my eyes open. I see my empty pots sitting on the back porch and two large pallets on the grass.

“It’s not built because you’ve been around and I wanted it to be a surprise, but I’m building you a greenhouse.”

I squeal, my eyes widening as I jump up and down. “Are you serious?”

“Yeah.” He rubs the back of his neck, and I pull his hand away, jumping into his arms and kissing him senseless.
