I wander down the sidewalk and keep getting distracted by everything from cute couples to even cuter dogs…

‘Hey! Watch where you’re going!’

‘Oh, I,um, sorry,’ I mutter apologetically, the delivery guy not even turning around to acknowledge me as he powers on down the street.

And my woes continue as I cross the road only to be honked at by a guy in a bright-blue convertible sportscar.

‘Sorry!’ I call out, my apology sounding a little half-assed, but only because my eyes are drawn to the extremely hot man at the wheel. ‘Oh…damn.’

Far from being the typical Daddy I’m used to, this driver just checked all the boxes of my increasingly prominent desire for a smart, slick, and devilishly handsome Daddy.

What are the chances that the driver in question was even a Daddy though? I guess it’s probably still pretty low, even if Los Torros has earned a reputation as being a very Daddy and Little friendly town.

‘If I’m ever going to find this place, I need to concentrate…’ I say, my mind filled with all kinds of thoughts about the man in the sportscar. ‘No more Daddy thoughts.’

‘That doesn’t sound like fun!’ the voice comes from behind me.

I turn around and see a smiling face looking back at me.

‘Hey, um, yeah, I guess not,’ I say. ‘I’m new in town. I don’t suppose you know whereMorning Milkis? It’s a café where-’

‘I know exactly whereMorning Milkis!’ they reply. ‘My name’s Nicky and I work there!’

‘I’m Taylor,’ I reply. ‘I don’t suppose I could walk with you there? Otherwise it’ll be dinner time before I find it, and I’m starving for my breakfast!’

We both laugh together.

I don’t like judging people or making assumptions, but I’m pretty sure Nicky is a little. He’s got a petit frame and is wearing a pale pink t-shirt with a cuddly bear illustration on the front.

Oh, and Nicky has a super-sweet little unicorn stuffie under his arm too.

‘We’re not far away,’ Nicky says. ‘Come on, let’s walk together and I can give you some tips about Los Torros. I’ve got a few minutes before my shift starts, so we could even grab a juice together before I start?’

‘Wow, yeah, I’d like that,’ I say, a big smile on my face.

So not only am I going to be finally getting my breakfast, it looks like I’m going to have some unexpected company too.

This morning is finally turning out pretty damn well.

Now all I need to do is let Nicky know that I’m a Little and not a Daddy…

* * *

After a quick couple of blocks, I’m arriving atMorning Milkwith my new pal Nicky, and I’m immediately impressed as we enter.

‘This place is nice,’ I say, looking around at the candy-colored walls and colorful furniture. ‘Is that… an area for playing?’

I point over at one corner of the café that is full of bean bags, boxes of toys, stuffies, and coloring pencils and paper.

‘Sure is,’ Nicky replies. ‘Looks fun, right?’

‘Yeah…’ I say, my voice trailing off as we walk over to a table next to the window. ‘This place is…’

‘It’s pretty special,’ Nicky says, sitting down opposite me and smiling. ‘I know it helped me settle in Los Torros when I moved here. And look at me now. Two years later and I work here.Perfecto.’

I smile and feel happy for Nicky that he’s evidently found his happy place.

It must beso much funto work somewhere like this.
