Without warning, I feel him insert two long fingers into my pussy, making my eyes roll back in my head. Grabbing the pillow next to me, I shove it against my face and scream as those fingers begin to pump faster and faster, all the while his lips suck at me, perfectly timed with the perfect amount of pressure. I can’t take it anymore. My legs spasm and my back arches off the bed as I scream into the pillow. Fire rips through my whole body and literal, goddamn stars dance in my eyes. I come harder than I ever have in my life and it lasts longer than I think it should.

It takes me a minute, but I rip the pillow from my face and toss it aside before staring up at the ceiling in a daze. I feel Luca peppering my inner thighs with kisses as he moves up my body. Soon, he’s hovering over my prone form with his massive arms braced on either side of my head. His eyes bore into mine before wandering over my face lazily. His soft, swollen lips tilt into a small smirk that makes my heart jump into my throat.

Before I have the chance to say anything, he places his mouth just a breath from mine and whispers against them. “I hope you feel me like a ghost inside of you for the rest of your miserable life.” My heart plummets into the bowels of hell at the same time as he leaps off my bed, zips up his pants and saunters out the door without even bothering to grab the shirt he was wearing.

Nora

Ialmost don’t even want to go to this engagement dinner anymore. I’m still lying here on my bed, staring at my ceiling fan and it spins in slow circles, contemplating the different excuses I can give to Mom for why I need to bail.

In reality, though, I know I can’t do that to her. This thing with Carson means so much to her and I know she needs me there. I need to pull on my big girl panties and suck it up. Hopping up from the bed, I decide to change out of this stupid dress. The feeling of Luca’s hands on it makes me want to gag. I rip the thing from my body and hurl it across the room, letting it drop into the small trash can by my bedroom door.

Luca’s car pulled out of the driveway half an hour ago, leaving me behind to make my own way to the club, but luckily, I still have the keys to Mom’s Jeep in my bag. Standing in front of my closet, I stare into the abyss of useless clothing items at a complete loss. At first, I hadn’t really cared what I looked like, but after what Luca just pulled, I’m feeling the need to get gussied up a bit.

“Alexa, call Kennedy!” I shout across my room. The next thing I know she’s picking up on the third ring.

“Sup, bitch?”

I roll my eyes. “I need your help.”

Shetsks. “What did you do?” She sounds suspicious and I don’t know if I should feel offended.

“I need to look hot, and it’s your fault you aren’t coming with me tonight,” I plead, still staring at my closet with sheer hopelessness. I’m not adressing upkind of gal.

“How hot?” she asks.

I think on that question for a second. “I want—I want to make a man want me...but I also want him to fear me a little, ya know?”

She laughs and I hear a rustling in the background. “I’ll be there in five.” The phone goes dead.

Closing my closet doors, I run to the front door and unlock it for Kennedy before going back to laying on my bed, once again spacing out and dreading the night ahead of me. I have no idea what happened to the Luca I used to be head over heels for. Despite the fact that he’s always been the biggest, baddest-looking boy of the two, he’s also the teddy bear that always had a smile for me when I needed it.

He was the one to serenade me with his guitar out on the beach while River surfed until the sun set. He was the one who took my virginity, the one who I fell in love with first. But I don’t recognize the man who left me like a pile of trash on my bed. I don’t recognize the anger, the pure, unadulterated hatred that had oozed from his stare as he smirked down at my stunned form. That’s not my Luca at all.

“Boom, baby!” My door slams open and I practically leap off my bed as Kennedy strolls in with a garment bag under her arm.

“Jesus!” I hold my chest and attempt to calm my breathing.

She rolls her eyes. “Oh, hush, I stomped all the way down the hallway. Not my fault you zone out like a weirdo all the time.”

“Ugh, whatever. Tell me you have the answers to my problem.” I huff and sit on the edge of my bed.

“Baby girl, even a genie wouldn’t have the answers to your particular dilemma. But I’ll do what I can to make you look hot enough to bring a grown man to tears.” She smiles cheekily, showing all of her teeth in the process.

“Works for me,” I sigh and I follow her with my eyes. She unzips the garment bag and pulls out a small slip of soft looking black fabric. I stare at the thing like it’s a serpent about to bite my head off. “Uh, Ken?” I squint at her. “Tell me that's the undergarments.”

She shakes her head with a wicked grin. “I promise, it looks worse than it really is. You just have to try it on and you’ll love it.” She puts her hands on her slender hips. “Do you trust me?”

“Reluctantly, yes.” I reach my hands out and make a grabby gesture. “Gimme.”

With a satisfied smile, she hands me the dress. I run my fingers over the soft fabric, marveling at how lightweight it is. Standing up, I slip the thing on, but realize quickly that there’s no way I can wear a bra with it. Luckily, I’m fairly slender and don’t have much to show up top. The dress is short, but not obscenely so. It hits just barely above mid-thigh, flaring out gently at the waist and cinching in just at my ribcage. The neckline goes up surprisingly high, but plummets at the back, practically showing off my entire spine in the process. I feel incredibly exposed, but also incredibly sexy.

Kennedy clicks her tongue a few times and whispers lowly, “Oh, girl...that boy’s gonna come in his slacks tonight.”

I snort. “That’s the idea.” I make my way over to my vanity. I really don’t feel like doing much with my makeup, liking the way my light-golden eyes shine with just a hint of nude-colored shimmer and some mascara, so I just apply a healthy layer of crimson lipstick that makes my teeth sparkle.

“Just one more thing.” Kennedy makes a gesture for me to turn around. She pulls the pearl clip from my hair and sweeps my long strands into a sleek ponytail and away from my face, allowing my entire back to be exposed. “Perfect!” she claps her hands together like a little kid who just built the world's best sand castle. She looks me over like a project well done.

“Here’s the plan,” I turn around and grab her hands. “If things go wonky, we need to have an evacuation plan.” She smirks at me knowingly, as if she's excited for the worst to actually happen. I wish she was coming with me, but she already has plans for dinner with her family visiting from out of town. “I’m serious, Ken.”
