“Well, since I have no desire to cross swords with any of you fuckers, that shit doesn’t interest me, either,” I told him. “While I don’t care how people get their jollies, the last fucking thing that I’m going to ever do is share a female.”

“The Eiffel Tower is perfectly acceptable,” Dillon said, and what the fuck?

“Apart from gym and football, I have no desire to be around another guy with his dick hanging out,” I drawled out. “It’s not my scene.”

“You’re missing out,” Vince said, and I was done with this conversation.

Setting my lukewarm beer on the kitchen island, I went in search of Edie, even knowing that it was a bad idea to ruin her fun. However, the hypocrite in me didn’t like the fact that she was hanging out with girls that werea lotmore experienced than she was. Yeah, I couldn’t see any of them pressuring her to do anything stupid, but if guys saw Edie hanging out with…friendly girls, then they might get the wrong idea about her, and I wasn’t okay with that.

Not finding her in the house, I started making my way to the backyard, praying that she wasn’t in the pool like most of the girls once they got drunk. Granted, Vince had mentioned that Edie was drinking water, but was she drinking water because she wanted to, or was she drinking water to sober up?

When I neared the sliding glass door on the side of the house, I felt a pair of feminine arms wrap around me from behind. “Here you are,” came a voice that I knew all too well.

Yuki Makor.

Fucking great.

Edie~

Yeah, looking around, I couldn’t say that I was sorry that I’d never been to a party before. I also understood why Talon had refused to let me take part in the scene that was uninhibited teenage regret. Well, maybe not regret, but there were definitely a lot of bad choices being made here tonight. As much as I was doing my best not to see everything through the eyes of an eighty-year-old puritan, this shit was crazy. Scanning the backyard, I didn’t even want to think what the fight scene had been like if this was considered just another teenage party on a Friday night.

When Calliope and I had gotten here, she had immediately grabbed something to drink, promising to take it easy, and I had grabbed a water, knowing better than to grab a beer. No matter what, I knew that Lars would haul me out of here if he saw a beer in my hand. Besides, I was okay with taking baby steps with my new social life. The last thing that I wanted to do was end up going viral for being wasted, forcing Talon to have to make a visit back home.

“So, Edie, who do you have your eye on?” Julie asked.

“I just had some quick action with Vince Acres,” Macey announced. “God, he’s so hot.”

“I saw Valerie Gates and Dillon Wells coming out of one of the restrooms earlier,” Julie said slyly. “She looked very pleased with herself.”

“According to the rumors, Dillon was talking about hooking up with her earlier at school today,” Tiffany Borelli chimed in. “So, I guess he did.”

“I don’t know why anyone bothers with high school guys,” Deidra remarked. “College guys are so much cooler.”

“Yeah, well, not all college guys are into jailbait,” Calliope pointed out. “Besides, don’t knock it until you’ve tried it. Some of these guys know exactly what they’re doing in bed.”

Macey glanced over at her. “Oh, yeah,” she smirked. “I forgot that you hooked up with Hunter Finley a couple of years back.”

“Speaking of Hunter Finley, there’s also no denying that Lars Finley’s reputation is legit,” Tiffany added, and I could feel my stomach churn with the change in conversation.

However, before they could go on about Lars, Julie repeated her question. “So, who are you thinking of hooking up with tonight?”

“Yeah,” Macey added. “All the guys are talking about you at school.”

“Honestly, I’m just here to have a good time,” I said lamely. “I’m really not looking to hook up with anyone.”

“Oh, c’mon,” Julie whined. “You can’t be serious.”

“For sure, Edie,” Macey joined in. “Your brother isn’t here anymore to run interference. Live a little.”

“Well, while Talon might not be here anymore, you guys are forgetting that Lars is still here,” Calliope reminded them, and I was silently grateful for her support.

“Why would Lars care who she hooks up with?” Deidra asked. “It’s not like it’s his business.”

“He’s just protective,” I said, feeling like a tool. “We grew up together, so he’s used to looking out for me just like Talon and Hunter did.”

“If I know Lars Finley, he’s going to be too busy between some random girl’s thighs to care about what you’re doing tonight, Edie,” Macey said, and my stomach churned again. “At any rate, he’s the last guy that should have a negative opinion about casual sex.”
