I am a little worried, though, that she’ll see it before she’s snuggled back in the blanket with me.

But my concern is unfounded.

When she returns, she doesn’t even look at the flute.

No, she’s looking at me.

“What?” I ask, cocking a brow as I peer up at her.

Standing above me with a smile on her face, she says, “I was just thinking about how much I love you.”

“I love you, too, babe.” I pat the sheepskin rug. “Now come back down here and join me.”

After she does, I wrap her back up in the blanket with me.

Finally, she reaches for her champagne. “Whoa, wait, what? Hayden…”

“Yes?”

I’m suppressing the biggest grin, as this is going just as I planned.

Slowly, she picks up the flute and stares inside, musing, “There’s a ring in my champagne.”

I chuckle. “Yes, there is.”

“What does it mean?”

She’s so cute.

I say, “Well, first, I think you should take it out. And then we’ll get to what it means.”

Once she fishes the ring out, I gently slip it from her hand.

Rising to my knees, the blanket falling down around us, I turn to her.

Holding out the ring, and with all my heart and soul, I say, “Addison, I love you beyond all my wildest dreams. But to make my very best dream come true, I’m asking you to marry me.”

Looking stunned, she murmurs, “You are?”

I laugh. “Yes, sweetheart, I am.”

It’s like it hits her then, and she says happily, “Hayden, marrying you is my best dream too. So, yes, I will absolutely, positively become your wife.”

“Babe…” My heart soars as I slip the ring on her finger.

We then seal our love with a perfect, passionate kiss.

We have so much to look forward to—moving into our new home, announcing our engagement, planning a wedding.

And then what?

Children?

Yeah, I can see that.

But for now, I’m reveling in the fact that my best dream has just come true.

I’m marrying Addison—my best friend, my lover, my life.
