Straddling him was even better.

Mmm, so good.

What if he had flipped me over and let me feel his weight in return?

Oh, my.

Or what if he had pulled me down to him and pressed his mouth to mine?

I think I would have kissed him back.

No, I know I would have.

But wait, I’ve sworn off men.

Or have I?

I have to admit that Arden’s not like other men.

I know that.

Ifeelit.

He’s different from any other man I’ve ever known.

There’s just something special about the guy. And there’s something special aboutuswhen we’re together.

“Yeah, there is,” I say out loud.

“‘Yeah, there is’ what?” Hector asks from the entrance to my cubicle, just about scaring the life out of me.

“Holy crap!” I spin my chair around and cover my heart. “I didn’t know you were standing there.”

“I’m sorry,” he says, looking apologetic. “I was calling your name from over in my cubicle, but you weren’t responding.”

God help me, I was so absorbed in thinking about Arden that I didn’t even hear Hector.

I wave my hand. “No, I’m the one who should be apologizing. I was just somewhere else, lost in my head, that’s all.”

Smiling, he replies, “Ah, that’s okay.”Damn, does he have to be so nice?“It’s just that it’s lunchtime. If you still want to go out to eat, we should leave now.”

I grab my purse and nod. “Yeah, I definitely still want to go. Let’s get out of here.”

Arden

Nils and I get in a good, hard skate and lift some weights, which is great since it keeps my mind of Willow.

Well, for the most part.

After we shower and dress, we agree that we’re both fucking famished. Since it’s convenient, we decide to hit up the bistro that’s just down the street. It’ll be busy, as it’s close to noon, but that’s okay. I’m more than up for prolonging my time away from the house.

When I’m home, allI think about is Willow. Probably because she’s right down the road.

At least here at the practice facility, though she’s not far from me right now, she’s working in the office area. That’s in another part of the complex, so there’s next to no chance of running into her.

That leaves me feeling pretty relaxed as Nils and I walk down to the restaurant.

As expected, it’s busy, so there’s a wait. We receive a number for when a table is available.
