Yes, it was.

As we eloped to Vegas with Sarah and Elliot and we got married the summer he got signed with Barcelona.

And it was perfect.

Just the way I wanted it.

“And do you remember our honeymoon?” Aiden went on, his lips whispering in my ear, making my body shiver.

“The hotel was nice… where were we even?” I shook my head, trying to remember anything other than the hotel suite with the private pool we had.

“Cabo, babe,” he laughed.

“We had a lot of catching up to do,” I shrugged innocently, since we were away from each other and broken up before our wedding.

“I still did the official proposal and stuff, after I already married you.”

“Yes, you did,” I chuckled. I loved seeing him on one knee asking me to be his wife when we were already married. But he did that for show, silencing all the rumors about me, Sky and Sky’s biological father, Jake.

“I love you,” he said, kissing the length of my neck as he pulled me to his chest. Even at fifty-two he was still muscular and strong. But I just called him vein.

Capturing his face with my hand, I turned his head to mine, until our lips me. And just like every time since our first kiss senior year of college, the butterflies in my stomach erupted. Our tongues met in a seductive dance and I shamelessly moaned into his mouth. There was nothing wrong desiring your husband. No matter the age.

“Gosh, I thought we were done with me walking in on you guys!” Sky groaned, but I could tell he was laughing from the way his voice shook.

Pulling away, I looked at my son and smiled, my arm still around Aiden’s neck. “Hi, baby.”

“Yeah, I’m not ‘baby’ in this situation,” he pointed at Aiden and I. “Come on old man, go down and entertain your guests.”

Aiden kissed my cheek before letting me go and as he passed Sky he clamped his shoulder.

“How are you, mom?” Sky asked, pulling me into a bone cracking hug. “Ro said you were freaking out.”

I almost rolled my eyes as Natalie was being overly dramatic.

“I think she just wanted you to stop talking to Gabriel.”

“I enjoy talking to Gabriel,” he replied with a grin. “When I’m not giving him crap about Ro.”

“I’m glad you guys bonded,” I ruffled his dark curly hair. Thankfully he got my hazel eyes and dark hair thankfully, and a heart of gold. But he wasn’t always that sweet, he used to make a lot of trouble keeping the Spanish media occupied. Now, that role was handed over to his son, Eric. “How are things with Eric?”

A shadow fell across Sky’s face, and pushing the door closed behind us, he sat on the black leather sofa positioned in the back of the room. We rented a little villa in the countryside not far off from Barcelona and all the rooms were minimalistic in furniture. Besides the huge king-sized bed and the vanity there was only the sofa and the coffee table placed in front of the big floor-to-ceiling window overlooking the backyard.

Taking a seat next to him, I fixed my dress and placed a hand on his knee.

When we lived in Barcelona it was easier to keep Eric in check. Nat was there, helping Sky bond with his son. Eric wasn’t a bad kid, nor was Sky a bad parent. They just didn’t see eye to eye. Eric craved his father’s attention who at times traveled a lot due to his competition schedule. Eric just needed to let things go.

“Rough,” he sighed. “I thought Eastview High was going to be good for him, but that one semester when he was hanging out with those kids didn’t do much for him. He’s been partying all the time and doing God knows what. It’s impossible to keep him under control. He is going to be a senior in September, he needs to get his life together and figure out what he wants.”

“Nat didn’t know what she wanted until later in the year,” I tried to calm him, but Sky laughed.

“We all knew Ro was going to go pro, Aiden just didn’t have the balls to push her.” I only gave him a warning look, before he proceeded. “Eric wants to paint, do art, sculpting, photography, hockey, golf, horseback riding and now the newest is music. And let me add, he isn’t good at any of those things.”

“He wants your attention, honey. Not your money to invest in things.”

“I told him I started training these bunch of kids in the Titan Academy. We have complete beginners. I thought maybe he wanted to try himself in soccer, and now he isn’t speaking to me. That's how offended he got that I dared to ask him.” Sky’s face mirrored complete confusion. “I don’t get it. I saw him kick a ball with Ro. That's why I asked him.”

“He liked volleyball and basketball,” I remembered I saw him play those two on the beach when he was younger.
