“It’s been two days,” I adjust myself on the counter so that I am facing him, “You barely know me. Are you serious?”

He doesn’t say a word. He just lays there silently, like a man who confessed nothing more than loving pineapple on his pizza.

Oh my God! I hardly know anything about this man.

What if he does actually love pineapple on his pizza?

I physically shudder at the thought.

Needing a moment, I slide myself from the counter. I didn’t hear him move, but I don’t make it far before Alex has his arms wrapped around me and is pressed against my back.

“You don’t build an empire and become a man as successful as me,” he holds me firmly but comfortingly, “by making rash decisions.”

Spinning in his arms, I look up at him, “Seriously? You don’t think this is a rash decision?”

“I have never been more sure of a decision in my entire life,” his fingers slide under my chin, “Two hours after we met, I knew you were unlike any woman I have ever met in my life.”

“Alex…” His name a slow, mere whisper that sounds like it is going to be followed by tears.

“After two days with you, I know with certainty that I am not willing to let you go.”

My heart is pounding in my chest as he continues to stare into my eyes as he speaks.

“I meant what I said,” his lips press against mine, “But I want to give you a whole lifetime of firsts and lasts.”

“Alex…” His name the only word I seem to be able to say at the moment, but he waits quietly for me to gather my thoughts.

“This is crazy,” I stare up at him, “We barely know each other.”

“I know everything I need to, and I’ll spend my life learning the rest,” his eyes are locked on mine, “And you might think this is crazy, but you haven’t said, ‘no.’”

He’s right.

I don’t even know if I want to reject his proposal.

It’s crazy. Fucking insane even.

Who says yes to marrying someone they just met?

People in Vegas all the fucking time, Izzy.

“Yes,” the single word comes from my mouth, surprising even myself, “This is fucking insane, but I’ll marry you.”

ALEJANDRO

Izzy has been making herself at home in the steam shower for at least the last thirty minutes. Her timing couldn’t have been more perfect. It allowed Andres to drop off the gift I ordered for her from Bergdorf’s, without her knowing. It also gave me the opportunity to finish up making my plans for the two of us this evening in private.

Placing the large box on the bed, I head into the bathroom to join Izzy in the shower.

“You can’t stay in here forever,” I chuckle, startling her when I open the shower door.

“Try and stop me,” she smiles back at me.

“Don’t tempt me. I will happily keep you locked up in this apartment for the foreseeable future,” I stalk toward her and box her body against the wall, “but then you won’t have much need for the box I just left on the bed.”

“I haven’t been in here that long,” she dips under my extended arm, “how in the world did you have time to go and get me anything?”
