You need me

That’s the only reason I need

Be there as quickly as I can

How in the hell did I manage to land the world’s most perfect man?

Rich…considerate…drop everything for me…a gentleman…except when he’s not…fucks like a God…Is there anything wrong with him?

I drop my phone onto the vanity, quickly apply my make-up and spruce up the curls in my hair before heading into the closet. After walking to the huge pile of bags, I dig through the La Perla bag to find the teddy Alex intends to destroy this evening. After considering all of the clothes I bought today, I settle on what’s in the bag from Bergdorf’s. The dark denim, midi, wrap dress will be perfect for what I have in mind. Pulling it on over the teddy, I secure the two buckles on the hip and slip on the black strappy heels the salesgirl recommended to go with it. Walking into the bedroom, I take a glance in the mirror before grabbing my phone and heading downstairs.

That’ll do.

My phone buzzes in my hand as I reach the bottom of the stairs.

MOM

We’re in the lobby, are you sure you gave us the right address?

Yes.

Tell the front desk your name

They’re expecting you and they’ll let you up

A few minutes later the elevator doors ding, and I hear my mom hesitantly call out, “Izz?”

“You’re in the right place, Mom.”

As they walk further into the penthouse, I wonder if I made the same awestruck face the first time I saw this place too.

“Alex isn’t home yet,” I hug my mom and then my dad, “but he’s on his way and should be here any minute.”

“You look wonderful Izzy,” my mom’s eyes continue to roam as she walks toward the windows, “The skyline view from up here is absolutely amazing.”

“That’s why I bought the place,” Alex dons his ever-charming smile from the elevator as he quickly closes the distance between us.

“You must be Alex’s father,” Dad’s words slow as Alex slides his hand around my hip.

Squeezing my waist gently, Alex leans down and places a light kiss just below my ear, “You look incredible, cerecita.Lo suficientemente buena para comer.”

Ugh…here we go.

“Mom, Dad,” I grab the hand on my hip, “This is Alex.”

“A pleasure to finally meet you, George,” Alex takes my awestruck father’s hand and shakes it before turning to my mom, “And you as well, Julie. I have heard so much about you both.”

“I feel like we can’t say the same about you,” Dad uses the fatherly tone I was dreading.

“George,” my mom scolds him.

“I’m sure the two of you have a lot of questions,” Alex gestures toward the living room and removes his jacket.

“Yeah,” Dad mumbles, “Like how old you are.”

“Dad!”

“What?” he replies, “It’s a fair question.”
