“That sounds lovely!” I managed to squeak out, not sure what to think about all of this.My mind was running a million miles a minute.Sara smiled at me, a nice, warm smile. She truly seemed thrilled that Luca and I would be representing the brand together.

“And Lily, we have some lovely purses that we would love for you and Georgia to represent. I was thinking Silverstone would be a great time to launch the line since that is Lily’s home race, I hear.” Lily smiled in response, clearly excited about the idea of launching something at her home race. Edward and Eric always came out with collections.

The meeting continued for another hour. Sara showed us various products and sketches of some shoots she wanted us to attend over the next few races. If Maison de Klotho was concerned about my outburst on Sunday, they didn’t show it.

Once the meeting was over, I bid goodbye to the team and headed back to my apartment. Luca was going to arrive in the next few hours, and I had barely gotten the place ready for a guest.By the time 3 p.m. rolled around, I heard a knock on my door. I opened it to see Luca dressed in a beautiful purple shirt with a pair of jeans that made his ass look incredible, not that I would let him in on that secret.

“Georgi-”

“Luc-”We said at the same time, both of us chuckling. He motioned for me to go first.

“I spoke to Henri… I’m so sorry, Luca. What I said was really rude and uncalled for. You had just won Monza, and I should have been there for you at the club.”

“No, it’s me who should apologize. I am sorry I told Henri. When he insisted that you and Éliott had never dated, I felt frustrated with him. I let my jealousy get in the way.”

I let my jealousy get in the way.

You’re the only person I wanted to go home with tonight.

Those words echoed through my mind. Was Lucaactuallyjealous of Éliott?

“I’d like to start over if we can,” Luca admitted. “I’ve been a dick to you, I know that, but I’d like to be friends if you think you can forgive me.”

“Well, I have to say, you have a heck of a way of apologizing. Reaching out to Maison de Klotho, not a bad move.” I could see Luca's expression lighten, happy to hear that his move had won him some favor.

“And don’t try and deny it; they outed you at the meeting today. Along with our vacation plans next week,” I added with a raised eyebrow.

“I figured if you were going to be mad at me, we might as well be angry in Majorca during our break,” he said with a chuckle.

Luca and I spent the next hour chatting. It felt nice to be less angry at him. Shortly after, Henri popped over and apologized to Luca. Henri and I had the F1 Podcast about home races that evening. I warned Henri not to go too crazy at the podcast. Truthfully, I was really worried about what he would say but decided not to let it get to me. Today, I had won the Maison de Klotho sponsorship, but I knew the battle was just beginning.

* * *

Henri and I arrived at the podcast fairly early, around 6 p.m. We had discussed some of the questions they would ask us, and while they didn’t mention my relationship with Luca, I knew that wasdefinitelygoing to be on the table.

As Henri and I walked onto the stage, I could see Luca, Noah, Edward, and Oliver sitting in the front row, a huge grin on Edward’s face. I smiled and waved back at them, prompting Edward to blow me a kiss and nudge Luca next to him. Luca just rolled his eyes, clearly not ready to put up with Edward’s antics. The more I stared at them, the more I began to see their dynamic – why their friendship was so revered among fans. I smiled at that thought. I loved Edward like a brother, and the more I thought about it, if Edward liked Luca so much, there had to be a reason.

“So Georgia, we’ve been very impressed with your rookie season. We’re several races in, and you’re leading the championship, just incredible.” I smiled at the podcaster’s kind words, a little surprised at the compliments. Maybe Josh didn’t want me to yell at him in front of a live audience on his podcast.Good.

“Why do you think you have what it takes to win in your rookie season?”

“Dedication. I know I have what it takes to win. I’ve never had a training regime this intense before, and I feel like this is the fittest I have ever been in my life. I have an incredible team around me. I am so incredibly fortunate to have a world-class strategy team at my finger trips. And I’ve got the fastest car on the track,” I added slyly, winking at Henri, who just flicked me off across the table.

Josh laughed at that and nodded, turning to Henri. “Henri, how is it battling it out with your sister on the track?”

“It’s been a dream come true. I always knew I was the better Dubois sibling at driving, and now I get to show it to everyone on an even playing field,” he joked.

“But in all seriousness, it’s been incredible to have Peaches with me on this journey. When I made it to Formula 1, and she didn’t all those years ago, I felt like a fraud. Like I had also taken her dream. Now, we both get to live it –together.”The audience awwed at Henri's statement, and I gave a little pretend gag, earning me a shove from Henri.

Oh Henri, Hermes don’t even know how lucky they are to have you,I thought to myself – half sarcastically. He truly was the driver every team wished for. He was kind, intelligent, could work a crowd, andactuallyknew how to drive a car.

“So tell me, what would it mean to win Monaco? Georgia, you can go first.”

“I’ve wanted to be a Formula 1 champion since I was a young girl. I want to show young girls all around the world that they can compete in Formula 1, and there is no better place to do it than to win one of the crown jewels of motorsport. If I win this tournament, I will be the second driver to win the Triple Crown of Motorsport. I won the Indianapolis 500 last year and somehow scraped out a win at the 24 of Le Mans the year before. It would mean the world to me to win this honor in front of my home crowd.” Henri smiled at me and grabbed my shoulder for a moment, giving it a big squeeze. We both wanted this win desperately, and I knew that meant tensions would be high on Saturday and Sunday, but today we were two siblings with a shared dream, and it was a nice feeling.

“Yeah, I second that feeling,” added Henri. “Winning at home… it would be a dream come true. I want the championship, but I really want this win in Monaco.”

“Well, it’s going to be an interesting race, I dare say! So Georgia, not to change topics here, but rumor has itall the women in this room hate you, you know,” the presenter crooned, a cheeky smile on his face.
