“Lizzie told me at the end Luca pulled a big prank on you. Sounded hilarious. I would have killed to have seen Henri's face.”

“Henri was definitely pissed off, but I thought it was quite funny. I was surprised Luca had the guts to do it.”

“Did you really think for a moment he was actually going to propose?”

“Truthfully, I have no idea what I was thinking at that moment. I was too frozen with fear. I guess I was trying to think about what on earth I was going to say.”

“Well, with a face that handsome – you’d obviouslyhaveto say yes,” she said mischievously.

“You’re starting to sound like you’re on board with this relationship a little too much… how much have you been talking to Edward?” I teased back.

“You can pretend all you want, Georgie, but you can’t fool me!” I just rolled my eyes in response to Lily, deciding not to give that comment a response.

“You going to join me on the podium today?”I asked Lily, decidedly changing the topic of conversation.

“Of course… I’ll be the one on the top step,” she quipped back.

“We’ll see about that, Lil!” I shouted back to her as she left my room, flicking me off just before she shut the door. I couldn’t help but smile at her determination. I was in pole position today, and I had no plans to give that up, but something told me Lily had a lot of fight in her today.

“Alright, Georgia, that’s lap forty-two complete. You’re fifteen seconds clear of Henri in P2, so keep your head down.”

“Awfully boring out here, guys,” I quipped back to my race engineer. I heard a soft laugh from Mel on the radio before she cut out.

On the straights, I could see Henri behind me, but only faintly. Silverstone had huge TVs around the track, and while we were told never to watch the big screens, sometimes it was hard not to. But as I saw the crowd going wild all around me, I dared to look up at the screen, only to see Lily passing Henri.

I knew I shouldn’t have been so happy to see someone passing my brother, but my heart soared for Lily. If Valkyrie could get a 1-2 finish at Silverstone, it would be the cherry on top of the ice cream sundae. I couldn’t think of a better ending to the weekend.

“Did Lily pass?” I asked into the team radio.

“Focus on your race, Georgia, there’s only eight laps to go. Lily won’t catch up to you, so nurse the tires and drive sensibly.”

And focus I did. The next eight laps felt like some of the greatest, if not the most boring, laps I had ever done. The car was flying, and I had already lapped two other drivers who had been instructed to get out of my way.

“Do we have enough time to pit for fastest lap?”

“No. We’re not risking this for a point. Let Lily have it.”

I sighed, a little annoyed that fastest lap would probably go to Lily but still, I was glad it wasn’t Noah or Henri who were second and third in the championship. Mel was right. There was no reason to pit for one point. The risk of something going on in the garage was too big. No one wanted to compromise the 1-2 finish.

As I saw the checkered flag waving, I took a big sigh of relief.

I was going to win Silverstone, and I felt unstoppable.

As I crossed the line, I heard Fiona Schmidt cut into my ear through the radio. “That’s P2 Georgie, P2. Great race!”

I felt sudden horror fill me. P2? No, that couldn’t be right. Had I gotten a time penalty?

“What do you meanfuckingP2?” I split out, but not even a second later, I heard laughter from both Fiona and Mel in the background.

“Hahaha, I kid, I kid. That’s P1, Love, but you can consider us even after that prank in Baku!” I heard Fiona joke on my radio.

“Looks like everyone wants to start a prank war with Georgia Dubois these days!” I chuckled back into the radio.

Georgia: 1 Fiona: 1

“In all seriousness, an amazing race from you and Lily. P1 and P2, we couldn’t have hoped for better!” Isabelle chimed in.
