She threw off the seatbelt and hopped out before I could help her down. "Fuck, Amara! Wait for me to help you. Jumping down like that might not be good for little P."

She rolled her eyes. "It's cute how overprotective you're being." She reached up and patted my cheek. "We're both fine, it's not that high up."

I grabbed her hand and pulled her inside with me. The smell of popcorn assaulted us as soon as we walked in, and I turned to Amara. "Is the smell bothering you?"

She sniffed before giving me a small smile. "No, it's okay. It's strong, but it's not making me sick. In fact, I think I want to eat some."

My eyebrows rose. "Aren't you full?"

She glared at me. "Are you judging my food intake?"

I held up my hands. "Not at all, just didn't want you to feel sick."

She wrapped her arm around mine and leaned her head against my shoulder, looking up at me and batting her eyelashes. "Will you please get me some popcorn? The big one?"

How could I say no? "Duh. You can't go to the movies and not have popcorn."

"Exactly. I'm going to run to the bathroom. Meet me back here in a couple minutes?"

I nodded, and she leaned up and pressed a soft kiss to my lips. I resisted the urge to claim her mouth with my tongue and instead watched her go before I turned to let the ticket counter know we were here and get her popcorn.

Arranging everything was easy since I'd roped Montana into helping me earlier today. I got in line for the popcorn and felt a tap on my shoulder. Turning around, a teenage couple held their phones in my direction. I knew what was coming.

"Can I help you?"

The guy spoke up. "Are you True Easton? From Shadow Phoenix?"

I quickly scanned the lobby for Amara and noticed her making her way toward me. "Yep, that's me. Want a selfie?" I learned last year that denying a fan could turn out a whole lot worse than just snapping a quick photo and sending them on their way. Just ask Zen and Kennedy.

They both nodded and moved in close on either side of me, snapping a couple of pictures.

"Thanks, man! You totally made our week." He grinned, glancing down at his phone.

"Have a good one."

I moved up to the counter and ordered as Amara wrapped her arms around my waist from behind. Her body pressed against mine felt fucking fantastic. "Hey, mama. Miss me?"

She nestled her face into my back and inhaled. "Mmm, even with all the popcorn you smell incredible. My mouth is literally watering right now."

I grabbed the popcorn and reached around, pulling her into my side. "You can sit in my lap and sniff me all you want while we're here, but let's get into the theater first." I glanced around for the teenagers, hoping they'd gotten what they wanted and would keep their phones away from us.

Moving into the dark room with stadium-style seating, Amara looked around. "Why is there no one here? And what are we seeing?"

Climbing up the stairs to the middle of the theater, we slid into cushy seats at the very center. "I rented out the theater for us, so we'd be alone."

She lowered herself into the seat next to mine and pulled up the armrest so she could put her legs across my lap. "You did?" Her voice sounded shaky, and her eyes watered.

"Honey, are you crying?" I reached over and wiped a tear off her cheek.

She sniffed. "I know it's dumb, but the hormones have started making me cry at everything. This is just so sweet."

I kissed her on the forehead. "I'm glad you like it. We're going for a double feature, two of your favorites."

She sat up straighter. "Really? What movies?"

"Remember Halloween? We were on the tour bus, and you told me your favorite movies of all time?"

"Ohmygod." It came out as one word. "How did you get them to play eighties horror movies?"
