Arbor turned around and met the clerk’s stare. “No, you can’t, but you can bet your ass that your manager will hear about how you disrespected a Howler’s Ol’ Lady. Get. The. Other. Clerk.”

Once the woman stomped away, Kitten stepped in front of him and met his gaze with her own. “That wasn’t necessary.”

“Bullshit.”

Kitten sighed. “I’m used to that.”

“Yeah, well, getun-used to it, because that shit won’t be happening.” He lowered his head and took her lips in a brief but deep kiss. When he pulled back, he grinned at her. “Now, pick out one for each day of the week, because I’m greedy.”

Kitten rolled her eyes, but she turned on her heel and went about snatching up lingerie in various styles and colors.

Asshesippedherbeer and relaxed on a bar stool at the compound, she smiled. Arbor was sitting at a table playing poker with a few of his brothers. She had been sitting at his side but had gotten up to grab a beer. Then she decided to hang there and give him a moment with his family.

She knew they were giving him shit about her, but she couldn’t hear what they were saying. It was the smile on Arbor’s face and the way they all kept glancing in her direction. They seemed to not only accept her but approve of her, and that meant more than she could ever explain.

When it came to Arbor, they all had the same goal — his happiness. Working together, they should be able to accomplish that easily.

“I like the way you watch him,” Storm commented as he took a seat on the stool next to her. He crossed his arms over his chest and bumped shoulders with her gently. “You’re good for him.”

“We’re good for each other,” she replied and took another drink.

“I hear ya.” He let out a sigh. “We’re glad you’re here.”

“Glad to be here. I didn’t know how beautiful it was up here.”

Storm quietly chuckled, his voice low when he said, “Our best kept secret.”

“Kitten!”

She turned and looked back at Arbor. “What?”

“Whiskey just said he didn’t think you could take him in a game of pool.”

Megan chuckled and finished off her beer. After setting the bottle down on the bar, she hopped off the stool and started stretching out her arms. “Bring a tissue with you. Don’t want your tears ruining the felt when I kick your ass.”

As the other men in the room burst into laughter, Arbor approached her with a grin on his face. “Get ‘em, Kitten.” He kissed her lips and slid an arm around her shoulders before he led her over to the pool table.

A few games later, Whiskey laid his pool stick down on the table and held up his hands. “I give up. You win.”

The other men started razzing Whiskey about being beaten by a girl while Arbor scooped her up in his arms and kissed her lips. “Proud of you,” he said against her mouth.

Megan wrapped her arms around his shoulders and smiled. “How did you know I could win?”

“I didn’t.”

She stared into his blue eyes and saw the warmth there. “You didn’t care whether I won or lost, did you?”

He shook his head. “Either way, we all win. That had nothing to do with pool. That had to do with me sharing my family with you and sharing you with my family.”

She laid her forehead against his and sighed. “You just keep getting better. You know that?”

“Yeah?”

She nodded. “Which is why I’m going to kick your ass next.”
