I swallowed hard. “Oliver Ridley.” There was a pause on the other end of the line and for a second I thought I’d lost her. “G? G-Gianna, are you there?”

“Are you fucking kidding me?”

“About which part, exactly?”

“Did you seriously go to Vegas and getmarried?” Her pitch rose with the last word.

“Keep your voice down,” I hissed. “Are you with Mom?”

“No. God no. I’m not with Mom. I’m not with anyone. Did you really get married?”

A nervous little laugh erupted from me. “Sorta.”

“Shit, Cam. Tell me everything.”

I gave her a quick rundown of the situation. “So yeah, I married a stranger and now I have no idea what to do. He wants to get divorced.”

“Can’t you annul the marriage or something?”

I shrugged, even though she wouldn’t be able to see. “I don’t know. He’s going to talk to his lawyer today.”

“Shit,” she repeated.

“What am I going to do?”

She exhaled slowly. “Well, you have at least two options. You can stay married or get divorced. What doyouwant to do?”

I bit my bottom lip. “I don’t know,” I said again. I couldn’t think clearly and nothing seemed to be making sense in my jumbled-up brain.

“You like him?” Her voice was quiet.

“I… I do. A lot. I mean, I’m embarrassed that it happened like this and kind of terrified at the prospect of being married to a complete stranger, but… it’s kind of exciting too, you know?”

I could hear the smile in her voice. “I believe it. That sounds just like you.”

“Is trying to stay married a terrible idea?”

Gen was quiet for a long moment. When she spoke again, she said the words my mom always used with us when we were making hard decisions. “Go with your gut. What does it say?”

Acid clawed at my throat, and I swallowed again before speaking my truth. “Stay married. It’s worth the attempt, at least.”

“Then I’m behind you a hundred percent. Congratulations, you fucking idiot.”

I cleared my throat, a lump forming. “Thanks.”

“Now you have a lot of decisions to make, considering you’re married to someone who lives thousands of miles from you.”

“You’re telling me.”

We said our goodbyes and hung up. As the call ended, a thought hit me. I couldn’t tell the guys. Nobody would understand, for one, and for another, I didn’t want to take focus from Nate and Theo’s bachelor party. Once Oliver and I made our final decision, I’d let everyone know, but not before that.

I closed my laptop and went to the bed, sinking down into the comfortable mattress. The pillow and sheets smelled like him, making my cock stir. I shook my head. No time for that kind of thing—I had a bachelor party to finish and I had to convince my husband to stay married.

Oliver

Isteppedintotheelevator, pressed the button for the lobby, and slumped against the wall, letting out a deep breath. “What have you done?” I whispered to nobody. WhathadI done? I didn’t know this guy from Adam, as my mom would say. What if he was a serial killer? Or a scammer of some sort?
