"Mrs. Brown, I believe it's time for our opening dance."
She gives me that enigmatic grin. "Excuse me, Nero," she says, sending him a polite smile. "My husband needs me."
"Nick, I have to give it to you; you have an exquisite wife. Next to being stunning and elegant, she is a smart businesswoman.”
Emma blushes, hearing Nero complimenting her.
"I'm in to taste your pastry treats soon, Emma."
I pat Nero on his shoulder and say, "Once you taste her sweets, you'll want them in your hotel."
"Oh, now you've got my attention. Next time you're in my office, bring them, Brown."
I agree, and as we make our way to the dance floor, the song I picked out starts. And as I pull her against me, I whisper in her ear," This song is for you."
As we slow dance, I see her green orbs get watery as she listens to the text. I catch a tear that glides over her cheek.
"Oh, Nick. I love you so much. You make me happy, Mister Brown."
Then her eyes get a special glow, and she takes one of my hands and places it on the side of her belly. I glance down, and when I want to ask why, the words get stuck in my throat when I sense a minor movement under my palm.
"Say hello to your son, Nickolas."
I stare at her with cow's eyes—ourson.
"Oh, Emma." I lift my head and cup her face. "I'll never forget this moment."
Our lips connect for the most tender but heartfelt kiss and when I pull back, I mumble small parts of the lyrics of this song to her.
"Forever I'm yours, forever I do."
