Cole and I turn our heads as Brian jumps up and strides towards her. He says something, sizing her up as she straightens. When the brunette faces him and takes a step towards him, our friend's face freezes up and pales. Then she turns and walks over to us. I cringe while Cole burst out laughing.
"Good morning, boys."
"What are you doing here?" I ask, surprised.
Amanda glances up and smiles. "What do you think of working out?" she says, pointing to her outfit.
"You look marvelous, baby girl," Cole says with a wink. My sister laughs and sends him an air kiss. Cole treats Amanda as if she's his little sister.
"Well, thank you, Cole. You're the gentlemen of the three."
"Oh yes, I am. But tell me, what happened with Brian?"
Amanda places her hands on her hips while she lifts her chin in the air. "He offered to help me with bending and stretching my body."
"And how did you respond?" Cole asks while his eyes are twinkling with pleasure.
"Oh, I said, 'if you only knew the ways my body can bend and stretch, it would amaze you. But since you're afraid of a real woman, you'll never get the chance to experience it.'"
Cole shakes with laughter. "You put him in his place, baby girl. I love it."
"Thank you, Cole. So how was the date with Emma?" Amanda asks while focusing her attention on me.
"Fine, we had a wonderful time."
My sister surveys my face, and then her mouth curves into a smile. "Oh, you're falling for her." Her eyes are sparkling with joy. "I'm so happy for you."
I can't help but laugh at her sincere reaction. "Thank you," I say, not denying her words.
"Okay, I will do my workout now. See you guys later." She turns and walks over to the treadmills.
"Are you going to check up on Brian?" I say with a lopsided grin to Cole.
"No. He will show his face when he's ready. He's still in denial regarding his feelings."
"Yep, he sure is."
"You're still okay with him having feelings for your sister?" Cole asks while looking at Amanda.
"Yes, I have always been. They're perfect for each other, but I'm not getting in between. I'm letting them figure it out by themselves. In the meantime, we can enjoy the show they put on from a distance."
Cole nods his head. "Oh, I sure will. Our Brian will have to admit to his feelings for her, eventually."
"Time will tell," I say as we continue our workout.
