Nick gives me an understanding grin. "I'd love to go with you. I wouldn't mind seeing that amazing girl of yours again."
A few minutes later, he returns from getting dressed. "Let's go, beautiful."
As we make our way outside, our fingers intertwine and a rush of happiness fills my heart. But in the background, I hear myself pray. Please, never break my heart.
