She nods but throws in the next question. "Can Samantha and I be your bridesmaids!"
I laugh at Charlotte's straightforwardness and speedy mind. "Only if we love the cookies you two made for us."
Samantha smiles when I wink at her as she looks up to hand me the package. I open the box and take one heart-shaped cookie. When I take a bite, I hum at the fresh lemon scent and vanilla teasing my tastebuds. I offer Cole a bite, and after he chews, he strolls over to the girls. Charlotte bites her lip as she tilts her head right back to gaze at the man towering above her.
"Hired," he says with a wink. Charlotte jumps, screamingyes, while Samantha hugs her father. "Congratulations, Dad."
Emma rushes over and pulls me into a warm embrace. "Congrats, honey. And what about your surprise?" She whispers in my ear, "Did it work?"
"Oh, you bet it worked. This woman's needs have been satisfied after three incredible rounds."
"They're nothing better than a good steamy round of sex with the man you love."
We both giggle like schoolgirls.
"What are you two whispering about?" Nick asks with a smirk and narrowed eyes.
"Nothing. Pure girl talk."
Samantha takes Charlotte up to the balcony, and when the door closes, I turn to Emma.
"Now let's video call Amanda and Bella," I say with a wide smile.
"Oh, boy, get ready," Nick states with a chuckle.
I grab my phone from the counter and push a few buttons. In a few seconds, both faces pop on the screen as I FaceTime with them.
Bella and Amanda both stare at me. "And? Did you get that mind-boggling orgasm you craved?"
Nick bursts out into bouldering laughter when he sees Cole's raised brows. He pats his friends on the shoulder. "You should know those girls talk abouteverything."
My future husband hurries my way and grabs the phone. "Hey, ladies," he says with a smile. "To answer your question. Yes, it worked. Three long full rounds," he adds with a cocky smirk. After sending the speechless girls a wink, he hands me the device, places a kiss on my cheek, and walks back to Nick, who pours himself a coffee.
"Oh, good lord! Multiple times?" Amanda says with blushing cheeks. "Hot damn. You're a lucky girl, Alisha."
"Yeah, I am. But he had his own surprise."
"Oh, what was it?" Bella asks.
"This," I say, calmly raising my hand until my ring fills the screen.
"Oh my god!" Amanda shrieks.
"He proposed!" Bella adds.
Emma stands beside me and hollers in a lively voice. "Girls, she’s getting married."
Loud, high-pitched screams fill the air when the four of us cheer.
"Oh, please tell us. How did he pop the question?" Amanda cuts in. "You know I'm a sucker for romance."
I tell them about the proposal, and they all sigh at the end. Amanda wipes away a tear.
"Get Cole back on the screen."
Cole, who hears, comes strolling back and smiles.
"Underneath your grumpy exterior, you’re a knight in shining armor, and you've outdone yourself. Thank you for making our friend happy. Next time I see you, I’m going to give you a big hug."
