Amanda slaps my shoulder. "You're smarter than I thought, Cole. But I have one question. Was it true that there was another man?"

Alisha answers the question with a smirk.

"Yes. I was with Steven, my old neighbor. He asked me to take a walk with him, and when we were on our way home, Cole arrived."

"Oh, my god, Steven the neighbor was there? I remember him," Emma says, wiggling her brows. "We always watched him from your bedroom window when he would work out in the garden of his parents’ house. Damn, is he still that handsome?"

"He's even better looking than he was then," Alisha states with a grin. "And he's a doctor in the ER now."

All the girls sigh in unison.

"I should have punched his face when I had the chance," I mumble.

"Oh, is he single?" Amanda asks. "I wouldn't mind having a physical examination by a hot-looking doctor."

"Cole said he was a dickless rooster. So, what's the point of dating one if he can't satisfy your needs?" Brian says while staring at Amanda.

I snicker, seeing his pressed lips and tense posture.

Amanda glances at the nightclub owner. "Then we must be resourceful in coming up with ideas to satisfy each other's needs in other ways. I can think of a few techniques," she says, cocking a brow at Brian, whose face turns sour.

All the girls pull and push Alisha towards the kitchen. "Bye guys, see you later," Alisha says, giving me a quick wink before they take her away.

"Damn, those women will swoon all over your actions," Brian mumbles, rolling his eyes.

"Tell us what happened," Nick asks with a smirk. "Was it good?"

I sit on the couch—stretch my legs in front of me—and place my hands behind my head.

Brian points a finger at me. "Oh damn. Look at his face. He had mind-blowing makeup sex. It's written all over your disgusting face."

I can't hold back a big smirk. Nick slaps his thigh and smiles. "I'm glad you two made up because my girl is a hormonal bomb at the end of her pregnancy." Nick rubs his hands over his face. "Especially when she worries about her friends. When she told me what she was planning to do with the note, and I said not to meddle, she almost threw an entire carton of eggs at me. And when I got mad, she broke down, saying I didn't love her. So, I'm warning you guys, don't mess with my pregnant wife. Even if she isn't right, just go along with it."

Brian and I chuckle, seeing his pleading expression. "Hang in there, buddy," I say.

Nick lets out a sigh.

"Are you ready for your little man to be born?" I ask.

"Ready? Man, I can't wait. Even if the thought scares me to death, I've never been happier in my entire life. Emma and Charlotte entering my life is the best thing that happened to me. And now that you and Alisha are a couple, we only have our Brian to worry about."

"Oh, hold on guys, I'm perfectly fine," our friend sputters while sitting back and crossing his arms.

"Yeah, you showed that very well a few moments ago," I say, cocking a brow at him.

"Oh, shut up. I'm just looking out for Amanda. We don't want some dickless prick to take advantage of her, do we?"

Nick nods his head. "You're right. Thanks for looking out for my little sister."

I shake my head. And he dared to accuse me of being in denial about my feelings for Alisha.

Hours later,I sit in the corner of my couch, cringing at the TV while Alisha and Samantha both swoon with a bowl of popcorn in between them—their eyes glued to the TV screen.

When we arrived back at the apartment building and Samantha stepped out of the car, she hurried over to Alisha, who parked her car a few feet from mine.

From the moment she stepped out, they have been chatting away. My God, these girls can talk about everything and anything. In the elevator, Samantha suggested a movie night tonight, and now we're sitting here watching the goddamnNotebook.
