Maybe he was right. Ithadbeen kind of cathartic.

“Ready for me to untie you?”

He chuckled. “The untying part is just as good.”

Toby raised Robert’s head, cradling it in his hands, stood, and lowered him back onto the seat cushion. He loosened the knots, and little by little, Robert regained control of his limbs. He knew what was coming.

Making love after a session was the best.

Toby knelt on the rug beside the couch, the ropes removed, and bent over to kiss him, a slow, sensual kiss that promised they weren’t done. Then Toby perched on the edge of the cushion, studying Robert’s face.

“What do you need?”

Robert smiled. “Just this. Us on the couch for a while.”

“Youcancome with me to San Francisco if you want. I don’t mind.”

Robert took Toby’s hand and kissed his palm. “You’ll only be gone a couple of days. I think I can cope that long without you. And someone has to run this place.”

Who was he kidding? Teague was more than capable. He’d done it for the past five years, after all, when Robert’s willingness to get involved had been MIA.

I’m back though.

And that was thanks to Toby, one hundred percent.

“Sean’s got some papers he needs me to sign.” Toby’s fingers traced patterns through the mat of salt-and-pepper hair on his chest, now and then tugging gently on it, sending a shiver through him.

“And you want to see how the club is doing without you.” Robert peered at Toby. “Do you miss it?”

“Yes—and no.” Toby let out a sigh. “There’s always something going on. And then there are the noises.” He gave a wry chuckle. “I swapped whips and paddles for cattle lowing, horses neighing, and cries ofyee haw.”

Robert laughed. “Who around here yells that?”

“Zeeb, when he’s teaching a guest how to throw a lariat. It’s kinda cute.”

“You’re going to have your hands full when you get back.” The first guests for Salvation’s new venture were due September twenty-fourth, and in his more panic-filled moments, Robert had visions of them arriving to find pipes sticking out of walls, floors not laid, no beds…

No wonder Toby had taken him in hand.

Toby got on top of him, his weight pinning Robert to the couch, and looked him in the eye. “Stop that.”

He feigned innocence. “Stop what?”

Toby’s eyebrows went skyward. “You know what I’m talking about.” He kissed the tip of Robert’s nose. “It’s going to be fine. Everything is working out according to plan. Tomorrow the carpenters and plumbers will arrive—even if we have to find new plumbers—and by the end of the week, you won’t recognize the place. Neither will I, probably. Think what a surprise I’ll get when I return.”

“But we’ve only had one firm booking so far.” And that was his second biggest fear. Toby had invested so much into Salvation’s specialist stays. What if it’s a flop? What if no one comes? The hamster inside his head was moving so fast, its wheel was about to come off its axle.

Toby cupped his chin. “Do I need to tie you up again?”

“No, Sir.”

That was clearly the right answer. Toby climbed off him and resumed his perch on the cushion. “You need to have a little faith. Word will get around.”

God, Robert loved his confidence, but not nearly as much as he loved his man.

His Dom.

To be able to say those two words felt like a miracle. In the middle of the deepest, darkest night, he’d believed there would never be anyone who could replace Kevin, in his bed and his heart, but Toby had achieved both.
