“Of course.” Peter looked at Teddy. “You’re going to find her?”
“That’s the plan. I’ll try not to screw up the schedule too much. But time is everything in situations like this, so it will be helpful if over the next several days you need me less than more.”
Peter nodded. “Do what you need to do. I’ll move things around.”

Before driving away from the restaurant, Teddy called Mori. “Is Mr. Novak still with you?”
“He is.”
“Can you put me on speaker?”
The line clicked, then Mori said, “We’re both listening.”
“My friend is available and will start right away.”
“Thank you,” Novak said, not hiding his relief. “That is excellent news.”
“He had a few questions he wanted me to ask.”
“Go ahead.”
“What kind of car was Rebecca driving this afternoon?”
“A Mercedes-Maybach S 580. It’s dark gray.”
“License number?”
“I don’t have it memorized.”
“I have it in our files,” Mori said. “I’ll text it to you.”
“Thanks,” Teddy said. “He also wants to know what errands she was running and the route she took, if you happen to know it.”
“I know she was dropping some stuff off at the local hospital,” Novak said. “We sponsor a program that helps families in need and Rebecca likes to be personally involved. After that, I’m not certain. I believe she said she was stopping by the wine shop.”
“Which wine shop?”
“Christine’s Fine Wines. It’s the only place we use. I think she was also going to the flower shop she loves. What’s it called?”
Teddy heard soft tapping coming over the line.
After another moment, Novak said, “Here it is. Smiling Eyes Flower Shop. I can text you all the addresses.”
“Great. As soon as possible. Is that it? She didn’t go anywhere else?”
“She could have, but those were the only places she mentioned.”
“All right. I’ll pass the information on.”
“Please also give my thanks to... I’m sorry, I don’t think you told us the name of your friend.”
“You’re right. I didn’t. He prefers it that way.”
“I see. I guess that makes sense. Please tell him thank you for agreeing to help.”
