I eyed her. “You do know you could have found out if yours was a boy or a girl, too, you know?”

She gripped my hand so hard I had to wonder for a second if she was having contractions. “I know, but I wanted a surprise. But that was also possibly the worst idea of my life, and now I’m in agony waiting to know, so please just let me live vicariously through you.”

I laughed at the desperation in her expression. “Chill out. We found out the gender. The reveal can go ahead.”

“Ah!” She spun me around in a circle. “It’s a girl! I just know it.”

She moved aside, tucking her arm into the crook of my elbow and dragging me around to say hello to everyone else. War, Nash, and Vincent were already talking to Fang. Sasha waved from where she was pouring drinks for her and Kian.

There were some of the performers who worked at Psychos on party nights, and the entire MC was here. Queenie waved from the back of the room, and I stood on my tiptoes to blow her a kiss above the sea of leather. There was more black clothing here today than any other baby party in history, I was sure.

I scanned the room, frowning when my gaze landed on Liam. “Bliss, why is my lawyer at my baby shower?”

She tugged me in that direction. “Because suddenly, the two of you have more in common than him getting you out of jail.”

Liam grinned as we approached. “Good to see you under happier circumstances. Rebel, meet Mae, Rowe, and Heath. My partners.”

I’d forgotten their similar lifestyles was how Bliss even knew Liam in the first place.

Mae smiled warmly at me. “I hope we’re not crashing. Bliss was very insistent we come.”

Bliss squeezed my fingers. “Mae has been receiving the brunt of my ‘pregnancy with three daddies’ freak-out calls. I thought it might be helpful for you to have someone to talk to as well.”

“I’m here too, though it’s been a while for me.” Lacey stepped in with a smile, hefting her daughter on her hip. “Luna is getting big.”

I remembered the younger woman from the fights Kian had taken me to. I’d stood with her and her partners when Kian and Fang had been punching the crap out of each other. “Oh my God, hi!” I hugged her. “I feel so bad for running off on you that night.”

Lacey shook her head, dark curls that matched her daughter’s ringlets bobbing around her face. “Don’t even mention it. I could already see back then you were heading down the same path as the rest of us. Juggling multiple men. Kian was staring after you with hearts in his eyes, even as you walked off with someone else.”

Heat tinged my cheeks, but I laughed. “You could have warned me.”

She winked at me. “But where’s the fun in that? Wasn’t it more fun to work it out for yourself?”

If I took out all the Caleb shit, she was probably right.

Lacey started telling me about her birth with Luna, and Mae chimed in, explaining some complications she’d had with her own pregnancy.

I was sure I looked like a bobble head, nodding constantly while taking mental notes.

I had so much to learn, and I desperately wanted to do a good job at being a mom. I wanted more than what I’d had. I was probably never going to be the mom who baked cookies or volunteered for the PTA. That was more Bliss’s domain than mine. I’d have to get her to make a double batch when our kids had bake sales at school.

But I wanted a house filled with the love and support I hadn’t had. I wanted to be the parent who showed up. I wanted to be the one to tuck them into bed and read them stories, even if they were twisted fairy tales where the bad boys on motorcycles were the ones who rescued the princess.

Mid conversation about the pros and cons of pacifiers, Bliss cut in with a groan of frustration. “Okay, I’m sorry, I love you all, and this conversation is truly noteworthy, but can we put a pin in it for a minute? Can we do the gender reveal? I can’t concentrate!”

I sniggered at the exasperation on her face. She’d clearly been holding that in for the past twenty minutes. She was going to explode if I didn’t agree to this.

“Okay, gimme the poppers and round up my men.”

She clapped excitedly, and War put two fingers to his lips and blew out a short, sharp whistle that cut through the buzzing noise of the room. “Vaughn! Kian! Fang! Up front.”

Bliss pressed the poppers into my hand. “This one is pink for a girl. This one is blue for a boy. Don’t let anyone see the sticker colors before you pop them, though.”

“You’re taking this very seriously,” I told her.

She shoved me toward the front of the room where the guys were gathering.

I held the poppers out to the men. “Anyone want to do the honors?”
