I’d never in a million years thought I would like babies. I knew nothing about them. I had siblings but couldn’t remember them below the age of five or six. Nobody at the club had kids. I didn’t even know how to hold one.

The first time Rebel had put Hayley Jade in my arms, I’d been terrified I was going to break her. She was so tiny and fragile I didn’t dare breathe.

But then she’d snuggled into my chest and stared up at me with big eyes that slowly fluttered with exhaustion. And eventually, she’d fallen asleep.

When Kara had noticed, she’d offered to take her, but I’d said it was okay.

Then I’d sat there with Hayley Jade in my arms for three hours until she woke up again.

I was still thinking about it that night when I got ready for the Psychos party. I thought about holding her in my arms the entire ride to the club and was still thinking about it when I bumped fists with Kian, who arrived at the same time in his truck.

Kian was like an overexcited puppy, bouncing on the balls of his feet.

I eyed him. “Dude. Be cool.”

“Can’t. Too excited.”

“You have had sex before.”

He elbowed me. “You’d know. Since you were there watching.”

A warm heat crept up the back of my neck at the reminder of him and Vaughn double-teaming Rebel. Fuck, that had been hot. I’d have never picked myself as the type of man who could watch his woman with someone else.

And yet, I kinda got off on it.

I looked over Kian’s outfit. Black jeans. White T-shirt. Black boots. Black jacket. “We match.”

Kian stared down at himself and then at me with a frown. “Yeah, I guess we do. But what else are you supposed to wear to a black-and-white party? Does it even matter? Won’t we all be naked and writhing around on the floor in a few minutes?”

I squinted at him. “Is that seriously what you think goes on here?”

His expression turned sheepish. “Maybe? I didn’t exactly get a good look last time; I was too busy freaking out about Rebel and those notes.”

I didn’t like the reminder of the notes. I didn’t want to think about whoever might have sent them still being out there, watching and waiting for their moment with her.

Scythe met us at the door.

“Rebel wants to see you both.” He pointed toward the darkened doorway that led inside the sex club. “She told me if I saw any of you, you had to be immediately sent to the locker rooms.”

“Is she okay?” Kian stepped forward.

“That was the only information I was given. I didn’t inquire as to her physical health.”

I cocked my head, realizing I’d mixed up the alter egos. “Vincent, right?”

He nodded.

So fucking weird how they swapped back and forth so easily.

I thanked him and ducked beneath the doorway.

The lights were dim on the other side, but the room was mostly empty. We were early, as Rebel had asked us to be. The party wasn’t set to start for another forty-five minutes.

I lifted a hand in greeting to Bliss and Nash, who were busily setting up champagne glasses, and said hello to two of the couples who performed in the gilded gold cages scattered around the huge room.

Kian walked beside me, quietly taking it all in. “Those cages…”

I grinned at him. “You’ll want to watch those later. You’ll like it.”
