Everyone seemed content with the arrangements. As people began to move, gathering their things and dispersing, Trevor pulled Mason aside.

As I passed them, I caught snippets of their conversation.

“Man, you really should’ve told me about you and Zoey,” Trevor said. “I wouldn’t have allowed Vivienne to pull those stunts if I’d known. And I definitely would have warned you about her being in town with us.”

Mason sighed. “It’s complicated. With Eric not knowing and all... I just wanted some time before the whole world got wind of it.”

Trevor clapped him on the shoulder. “I get it. But you know, the longer you hide it, the harder it gets.”

I appreciated Trevor’s understanding. The guys and I hadn’t gone public with what we were yet, but tonight had pushed us a few steps closer to a definition.

With everyone settling in, I finally headed to my room, Mason trailing behind. Closing the door, I turned to him, looking into his eyes, which held a mix of gratitude and something deeper, more vulnerable.

He pulled me into a gentle embrace. “I’m sorry about tonight.”

I shook my head, laying it against his chest. “It’s not your fault. Vivienne just... has her own way of doing things. And honestly, hearing you call me your girlfriend in front of everyone... It felt right.”

His chest rumbled with amusement. “I was about to burst seeing her try to claim territory that wasn’t hers.”

Rolling my eyes playfully, I pulled away slightly, holding his face in my hands. “Are we... I mean, am I yours?”

He looked at me seriously for a moment; then his eyes turned darker, more seductive. “Yes, Zoey, you’re mine. I thought that was obvious. You belong to us—at least for now.”

I wrapped my arms around his neck. “No objections here.”

At least for now.

That was the last thing he’d said, and it was a reminder that when this vacation ended, so would our relationship.

Pushing those thoughts aside, I just wanted to embrace the present.

We kissed softly, the outside world, with its snowstorms and unwelcome guests, forgotten for the moment. The attraction between us was undeniable, and I was going to show him just how much he meant to me.

CHAPTER15

Bodhi

The soft hum of conversation and the scrape of shovels against snow reached my ears as I stepped into the living room. Nate, Trevor, and Mason cleared the snow around the cars outside.

It looked like a local snowplow had been through at some point, making the main road passable, but the cars themselves were buried under the night’s heavy fall.

Mason was attacking the largest drift, while Nate seemed to be working out a strategy, occasionally directing the others to clear specific areas.

Vivienne and Jessica weren’t standing idle, either. They brushed the snow off their car with swift, efficient motions, their breath visible in the cold morning air.

I was grateful Zoey had slept in. After the emotional roller-coaster of last night, she needed the rest. The cabin was silent, save for the distant sounds of snow clearing, creating an odd juxtaposition to the tension from the night before.

Liam came downstairs and put on some winter gear to help expedite the departure. I asked him if he thought they needed additional help, but Liam suggested I make breakfast.

I wasn’t going to argue with that.

From the window, I watched Vivienne pause and glance toward the guys, her gaze seemingly fixed on Mason’s back. It was clear that even though Mason had been direct with her last night, old feelings and memories still lingered. She quickly resumed her task, but that momentary pause spoke volumes.

After about thirty minutes of persistent work, the cars were finally free. Nate revved his engine, signaling that they were about to depart. And then, they were gone.

The atmosphere lightened as the cars disappeared down the snow-covered road, leaving only tire tracks in the white landscape.

With their departure, the cabin again became our sanctuary, and we could focus on the new challenges awaiting us, starting with Eric’s reaction to our new relationship.
