“So, Zoey,” Liam began, a playful glint in his eyes, “got any more household items you’re ready to wield as weapons?”

I laughed, rolling my eyes good-naturedly. “I’ll have you know that my tissue box defense system is second to none.”

Mason rolled his eyes.

Bodhi grinned. “Potential intruders should be terrified.”

I darted my eyes between the three of them. “Well, welcome. Consider this your reprieve from city life.”

Liam clapped his hands together. “Perfect. And we promise not to create too much chaos.”

Bodhi said, “I’m not promising anything.”

I shook my head, feigning exasperation. “Great.”

Liam’s expression turned sincere. “Seriously, though, it’s good to see you, Zoey.”

Bodhi smiled. “Yeah, it really is.”

Mason gave a slight nod in agreement.

A flutter of warmth unfurled at my core, as if the years had melted away in an instant, revealing a lingering connection that tugged at something deeper than nostalgia. “It’s good to see you guys, too. And as long as you don’t mess with my tissue boxes, I think we’ll get along just fine.”

The three guys bustled in, each laden with their bags, and I found myself falling into the role of an impromptu tour guide. “Okay, all the rooms are upstairs. Liam, you’re in the first room on the left. Bodhi, you can sleep at the end of the hall on the right. And Mason, the middle room on the left is all yours.”

Liam responded, with a playful glint in his eye. “Oh, come on, Zoey. You sure you don’t want me to bunk up with you? I promise, I don’t snore—much.”

Hell, yes, I wanted to bunk up with him—or any of them. My heart skipped a beat at the suggestion, and I stumbled over my words, my cheeks flushing. “I, uh, I mean... No, that’s all right, Liam. I think I’ll stick to my own room.”

My body’s unexpected response to his words was both exhilarating and disconcerting, and I quickly turned my attention to smoothing out an imaginary wrinkle on my shirt.

Liam responded with a faint, amused chortle. “Relax, Zoey, I was kidding.”

Of course he was kidding. Why was I acting like such an idiot?

Bodhi turned to me, his grin inviting. “Hey, Zoey, why don’t you stay up with us? It’s been ages since we’ve seen you. It’ll be good to catch up.”

A wave of electricity surged through me at the suggestion. But, despite the temptation, I shook my head with a sheepish smile. “I appreciate the offer, but I think I’m going to call it a night. It’s been a long day.”

Liam nodded understandingly. “Fair enough. We’ll have plenty of time to catch up.”

I gave them a wistful smile. “Definitely. Five nights, right? Have a good night, guys.”

Seeing them had been too much for my sex-deprived body. I wasn’t going to admit that I was heading to bed because I needed some time to myself to satisfy my own desires.

My vibrator was about to get averygood workout.

CHAPTER3

Bodhi

Jetlag had me waking up well before the sun rose. And a fitful night of dreams imagining Zoey writhing beneath me all night hadn’t helped with getting a good night’s sleep.

When had she grown up? The image of Zoey that I’d carried with me, frozen in the time capsule of high school, clashed fiercely with the reality I’d encountered the night before.

Time had worked its magic, sculpting her into a hot-as-fuck goddess that left me utterly astonished. Her blonde hair framed her face like a golden halo. And then, those blue eyes held a sensuality that was impossible to ignore. She stood tall, around five-foot-eight, with a posture that told me she was no pushover.

Just being near her, I felt a pull I wasn’t sure I wanted to resist.
