Heat floods my pussy and my nipples pucker just thinking about it.

If only it didn’t have to end…

Where could we have been right now…

My mouth wrapped around one while the other filled me so perfectly.

A sob rips from my throat, the sense of loss too much to take, despite the fact that JD is right here.

He is right fucking here, wrapping me up in his strong arms and holding me together.

But it’s not enough. I need the man who just ran as well.

“He’s scared, little dove.”

“Why?” I whimper. “It’s just me, and I want him.”

“I know, baby. It’s gonna take time.”

“He’s disgusted by me. By everything I’ve been through. You should be too.”

His entire body goes still, his muscles tense as I talk about myself like that.

“That’s bullshit and you know it,” he spits, barely able to contain his anger.

“Is it though? It’s been five years. I’ve done everything I can think to do to tempt him. He doesn’t want me. Not the way I need him.”

JD’s chuckle is so at odds with the tension locking up his muscles.

“Why are you laughing?” I demand, pulling my face from his chest and glaring at him.

“Little dove, did you not feel how hard he was for you? He was about three seconds from jizzing in his pants because of you.”

I shake my head.

“His face when he touched your clit and you moaned like a whore. Thought he was going to explode. He fucking loved it.”

“Then why did he run?”

“I don’t know him well enough to give you a real answer, but I think he’s scared.”

I lean forward, pressing my brow against his sternum and sucking in a deep breath.

“Go to him, Dove. Talk to him, show him what he’s missing. Go make his day and blow his mind.”

When I glance back up again, there’s a conflicted expression on JD’s face that makes my stomach knot.

“J—”

“It’s okay,” he lies. “He’s your husband. Go give him what he needs. I’ll be downstairs when you’re done.”

He presses a kiss to my brow and then rolls away. He pauses at the door and looks back, his eyes running up the length of me.

“Thanks for a great morning.” He winks, and then he’s gone, leaving me in the middle of the bed with a heavy heart and a knot of dread in my stomach.

JD might be smiling, but it’s only skin deep. Mav might be scared, but JD is hurting, and I’m not sure I have the power to fix them both.

With a loud sigh, I slide my ass across the bed before getting to my feet. For just a moment, I stand and stare down at the messy sheets, trying to picture just how we looked together. Tangled limbs, sweating skin and heaving breaths.
