It’s only as that realization settles in my brain that the weight of the arm resting on my waist makes itself known.

A smile plays on my lips as I think about Mav but that quickly changes as the memory of what happened last night takes over.

My temperature quickly soars.

Holy shit.

We did that.

And in front of Reid.

Who was enjoying it…

‘Oh my God,’ I mouth, not wanting to wake up my bedmate as I cover my face with my hands.

Heat rushes through my body as the image of us on top of the table plays out in my mind in high definition.

You’re such a whore, Alana Murray. And you love it.

I shake my head, unable to argue with my thoughts.

I did love it. Being at the mercy of Mav and JD is a fine place to be.

After a few seconds, I manage to get myself under control and lower my hands.

I blink against the darkness, but my eyes quickly adjust thanks to the sunlight peeking through the crack in the curtains.

But when I look down, all the air rushes out of my lungs.

I’m not pinned down by one arm. But two.

Holy shit.

I look between the two sleeping gangsters on either side of me with my heart in my throat.

When I passed out, I was in Mav’s arms. I don’t remember coming to bed, and I certainly don’t remember them both joining me.

I lie there for the longest time watching them both sleep. They look so peaceful, so at ease. I wish it were the same when they were awake, but both men are battling with demons only they have the ability to banish.

As much as I want to stay wrapped in their strong arms, absorbing their warmth, my need for the bathroom gets the better of me.

As gently as I can, I move their arms from my body, watching each one, waiting for them to wake as I do so. But they’re too far gone, their breathing barely even hitches. Carefully, I slide down the bed until my feet hit the thick carpet.

Spinning around, I take in the sight of them, both shirtless and only in a pair of boxers. What a fucking sight.

Ripping my stare from them, I rush into the bathroom to take care of business.

I wince when I come to stand in front of the mirror. My hair is wild. I try running my fingers through it, but it’s impossible. Rummaging through the bag of stuff JD got me that I abandoned in the drawer, I search for a hairband. Christ knows how he thought to get me hairbands, but right now, I’m too grateful to question it.

Tying up my short locks, I tuck a loose strand behind my ear and really look at myself.

Yes, I’m exhausted. I’ve no idea what time Mav put me to bed last night or what time it is now, but I’ve clearly not had anywhere near enough sleep. I could probably crawl back into bed with them and sleep away the rest of the day. It’s a tempting thought being tucked between those two incredible men.

But there’s more than just my tiredness staring back at me.

For the first time in a long time, there’s a sparkle in my eyes. I look… well, alive, I guess.

I’ve found a lot of things under the roof of this manor, a lot of things I’ll happily forget. But I’ve also found things that I’ll treasure forever, no matter where all of this ends up.
